Walmart increased driver salaries to 110k for first year driver’s but are they really making that amount of money? Let me know your thoughts. I look forward to hearing from Walmart drivers. #trucking #truckdriver #cdl #walmart

I drive for Walmart, heres the thing they let you be lazy or let you work as much as you want (70 hr). I really hate for someone to come in to Walmart thinking you'll make 110k without putting in the Effort. We got a lot of rules that seems silly coming into Walmart, and some really are just silly. But, if your personality is "i'm going to do things my way." (I'm not judging at all!) you DEFIAIANTLY will not be happy here.

Well said, nothing but truth lot of drivers think the money will just walk into their accounts without having to do much lol. Walmart does have some stuff in place which many don’t like but me I love it here at Walmart. My biggest regret is that I SHOULD’VE CAME HERE SOONER lol. Almost 3 Years here & still happy with it. @@mackserver5482 Yes indeed & not hard honestly.. Well I don’t get a choice to choose what kind or type of runs I want. I just go with the flow & both make money. I like how sometimes I’ll have 300-400 mile range for one day with a lot of activities & still make $400-$460 for that day. I’ll run 500-650 miles days for one day I’ll make that same amount so it all really balances. Most I made with Walmart for a single day was $550 with some change. Now sometimes I do hit $500 days but low $500’s but how I hit those $500 days I run hard & it has to be a Sat or Sun to get that extra mileage pay lol.. Walmart pays you .7 cents extra on top of your regular mileage pay so for instance if I’m working during the weekend I’m getting .67-1/3 cents a mile close to .68 cents. Plus all the activity’s for that day you’ll hit the bankroll lol.

This is an interesting video. I work in healthcare and applied for an IT job online with Walmart but never heard back. A few months later, however, HR reached out to me and asked me if I would be interested in becoming a truck driver with them. I was shocked because I'd never even thought of driving a truck before. I turned it down, but looking at some of the videos posted now that may have been a mistake. It seems like a pretty good career with the company once you're in it.

I have been with Walmart for a little over a year and the potential is definitely there. As others have mentioned, you gotta work your full 14 every day. We only work 5 days then get 2 off each week (unless you are on a specific program like 5/2-5/3 or 6/2 or 6/3 or 5/5, etc etc) I get 5 weeks vacation as long as I don't have any accidents. 21 Vaca days and 4 safety days. With 5 day work weeks that's 5 weeks. You get all kinds of secondary benefits but they are strict on safety and the trucks are governed at 65...which sucks

@@Sicwkskxkckckzd no, most Walmart locations won't hire unless you have close to 10 years experience. There are some that will do it at two and a half years experience, which is the minimum, but that's only location to have a hard time finding drivers. I had to have 10 years experience before the would even talk to me (at Bentonville) and almost 12 when they finally hired me. The only way that a brand new driver can become at Walmart driver is through the Walmart associate-to-driver program. You have to become a Walmart associate and then look up the requirements, it's a six-month training program last I heard. It can be hard to get into (from what I hear).

I’ve been at Walmart for a while now and everything seems great! Yes, you can make that working here, you just have to be willing to work. There are ups and downs, like some of the rules. But after you’re here for a while you get use to it and it’s not really much to ask. Mainly common sense stuff you should’ve been doing anyway with Walmarts own twist to it. From what I’ve learned my time here is just take your time and get there safe and you’ll do just fine. I was told “Walmart pays you to slow down” not like sloth speeds, but you really don’t have to rush anymore. If you can’t make a load on time just tell them and they’ll swap it.(before you pick it up) Can’t drive because of weather? Pull over and call them, then start getting paid for your downtime. I’ve worked a 10 hour day and made 450. But I’ve also worked a 14 hr and made 380. So it really just depends on what you’re doing. How many miles and activities you get etc.. there’s a lot to it, so I may need to make a video explaining everything. But all summed up… it’s not for everybody and that’s fine, but if you pass onboarding and end up liking then they’ll treat you right.

I remember when Walmart had some very strict hiring standards… 10 years plus at 1 employer, no accidents or tickets, basically they wanted a perfect driver. Funny how times have changed and they have been forced to reduce their standards. Never seen a job advertisement for Walmart until the last couple of years and now you see it on their trailers and on signs on the store and DC properties. I applied years ago and was turned down for not having 10 years at one employer and a not at fault accident on my record at the time. If you are looking for a job that was once pretty difficult to get, apply and wait. Their work rules aren’t for everyone so ask some questions of Walmart drivers and do some online homework to know what you are getting into.

Pre trip and post trip, departure, arrival, drop and hook, undock a trailer to put your loaded one in the door, and live loading and unloading, i evan get paid to sleep in my truck $42.00 a night, mind you i work a 5 day on and 2 days off schedule so you actually get 4 paid nights for sleeping! 😊 when they need extra drivers they offer a extension bonus for working a extra day those can pay as high as $300.00 for just that extra day plus all your activities that day . Anthony - This is off topic of this video but I am a 30 year old landscaper for last 13 years holding a class A CDL for 5 years. No semi experience just dump trucks pulling large flat bed trailers is why I had to get my class A. Long story short I need a change of pace in life with a better work schedule having weekends off guaranteed for my landscape side jobs I sell and install myself in the summer months. I found a CDL class B delivery job in the beverage industry working four 10 hour days and 3 day weekends guaranteed. This is not delivery of beer. Strictly hard liquor and wine that's boxed and no stocking of merchandise. Drop and go visits with average day of 300-500 cases i was told in the phone interview . Do you have information or a opinion on this style of beverage work? I've watched a few of your videos where you said it was miserable work but I'm curious if this style of beverage delivery work isn't as bad? Keep in mind I am no stranger to working long hard days. My longest shift to date was 38 hours straight plowing snow. I'm just ready to get away from slaving for someone on call 24/7 during winter. Any input you have I appreciate and keep up the content man. Take care

The Walmart driver development academy program is for the people that is already working at Walmart as associates (employees). If you not an associate and coming in as a driver already than you have to have that requirement with 3 years of experience or more. On the real I just started driving for them you don't make 110,000 the first year out. But you will definitely make more than the average truck driver for the first year. It's after the first year because you have to have time to build up your ADP. But the thing about Walmart it's like the military of truck driving. They have certain ways of doing things to be safe cause they all about safety. They want you to learn their culture of doing things. They discuss all that with you in the onboarding class. Do you make money yes, but the key is to not chase the money but chase the habits. The safer you are the better your lifestyle will become. Also could I get your email there is something you stated about buying home properties and a LLC in one of your videos. I wanted to know if you could talk more with me about it offline. Thanks

You can get your own truck just varies on how fast I seen guys get it within 3-6months some 1 year.. Main key is depending on the DC & how many positions open up while your hired it’s random for each DC but February of every year is realignment for us which is biding for schedules which includes programs & along your own tractor. Everything is with seniority here. I could’ve had my own truck awhile ago within my first year but I choose to pass because for me I want rotating weekends to be able to have them off & etc.. It’s really up to what suits you best.. You can have your own truck with weekends every single week sure but those guys are with 15+ years with Walmart. So having your own truck within 1year or less or even with 3 years you won’t have the weekends off with having your own tractor it would be weekdays off unless your in a program truck like I’m in which is 5/2-5/3 where I’m gone 4days back on my 5th I’m off 2 full days then gone 4 days back on my 5th off for 3full days rotating with weekends off/ weekdays off. I share 2 tractors with 3 guys & it’s always the same tractors we use so it works out we got microwaves along CB’s in both trucks which keep in mind those are our personnel items all trucks don’t come with those but all trucks do come with mini fridges along with inverters but all the other stuff such as microwaves or CBS they don’t we just always keep a CB Radio & a microwave in those 2 trucks we share so it’s less things we need to worry about. You use 1 truck for the whole week then use the other truck the next week & continues on back to the first truck. Lines up perfect to where we’re not stuck without our program truck Walmart is good at getting the schedules right. Also you get to see your whole schedule in a year advance so you know what your days off gonna look like so you can plan things. It’s not as bad you think it is for that whole truck situation but I get it for some it still might be a deal breaker & I understand but just wanted to kinda let you in on how it could look like.👍🏼

Super late on this. I’m a Walmart driver, and the money is there but it’s subjective. It depends on what type of DC you work at, how hard you choose to run, they aren’t going to force you to do anything, unless you are really slacking. If you work grocery you are making a lot of activity pay and about 450 miles a day in WA state\oregon. If you work GM, you are doing up to 600 miles a day, but not a lot of activities, it almost balances out. 110 is definitely possible year one if you run nights, and you are definitely making it if you run nights+weekends. Just for insight, I grossed 97k year one and I run days with no weekends. 7 extra cents a mile for nights, and another 7 on top for Saturday and Sunday, but only if you work both

30 months of experience is crazy. Even more crazy that you can’t even enter their driver program unless you currently work for them. What about the people who’s trying to get that experience. Like where do you even find experience when everyone requires it makes no fucking sense at all man!
@NuggetRetired
@NuggetRetired Жыл бұрын
Wal-Mart requires experience.. even experienced you need to go through their week long onboarding program which tests your pre-trip, backing and driving. They have things called "Criticals".. if you do a critical you fail and don't get offered the actual job, they pay you out of the week you did onboarding with a check and say see you in 60 days if you want to try again. This week 19 drivers went into onboarding.. only 6 passed on Thursday test day.. and only 2 passed today(Friday).. so 8 out of 19. They all had resumes with experience. They tell you straight up, we have jobs for everyone here.. but were not going to just give you them.

I got 22 months of experience, just 8 more months and then I’m going to work hard to get on with Walmart. I currently make between $80k to $95k a year however I rarely go home. If I can make that same pay with Walmart and get 2 days off week then I will be very happy because currently I have no life

@ Shakira Walker Walmart does regions, and then on top of that you go where they dispatch you depending on your HOS. I work out of Midway, Tn and I have been in several states from Indiana to the bottom of Georgia. It’s basically safe to say that your at their discretion for five days, but on your third day out you start getting routed back to your home DC.
