Just discovered your channel. I cannot believe these snow buses were made up to at least 1981. What was the last year they were made to?
@dadsrepairshop Жыл бұрын
1981 was the last year we know of. Welcome to the channel! We are coming up on 200 Bombardier videos so enjoy!

Who said they stopped making half tracks after the war?
@iguanaamphibioustruck73529 ай бұрын
I am Dave Hansen, engineer and inventor of Iguana Low Impact Tracked Vehicles. I built my first prototype in 1991. Bombardier made some great snow machines but improvements in power supply and materials for tracks have improved the keys to mobility; Support and Engagement. Short wide tracks are better than long narrow tracks. Machine life is inversely proportional to speed and inversely proportional to the 10/3 power of the load. This means, if you cut the load in half, your extend the life by a factor of 8. My amphibious truck has 4 drive axles instead of two. Four tracks instead of two. Wider tracks with hydraulic angle control which cuts the power for brake turns in half. The results are quantum and promise performance a demonstration equaling the KZbin podcast of Snowmobile on Water by David Hansen, when I get to build my hybrid Amphibious Truck (KZbin). I qualified my company on the Boeing FCS program but Obama/Biden cancelled it in 2009. It disappeared without a trace. GET SMART, GET TRUMP he will bring back our Industrial Society and make me rich and famous

bombardier made this in 1981? from what i seen on the web they stopped making these in 1959.

still made well after that

They made them a lot longer than that. I remember the new one we got in 1978, delivered by C-180 aircraft. Actually had an automatic transmission which was appreciated by everyone.
