Truck Rebuild! (FLATBED & LONG TRAVEL) 1st Ever Tacoma with these NEW Parts!

I'm so excited to share the rebuild plans of my Tacoma with you guys! I've partnered up with Dirtbox Overland, Allpro Offroad, and Dobinsons and will be the very first Toyota Tacoma running a new Flatbed Tray & Canopy, new (prototype) long travel 14" smoothie & coilover suspension, and a new +2.75" LT suspension kit. The truck is going to be unbelievable.
In this video, I share all of the details and plans for the build. I want to especially thank Dirtbox Overland, Allpro Offroad, and Dobinsons for being such awesome companies and for being gracious enough to allow me to do this. @geojenkins Yo that's so sick. I saw it a while ago on social and it immediately became probably my favorite truck build of all time. I saw it in person at the PNW Overland Expo. It's so rad. The original plan was to do a GFC passthrough like that, but I'm not sure I'll have enough time to figure that out on the first go around.

💯 that’s what I’ve gathered from watching the Aussie vids. So many times GVM or sensor compliance is mentioned. I think they’re ahead when it comes to expedition style travel. But not when it comes to competitive off road (Baja, KOH, crawling, etc). USA culture is very much so tow your Jeep/Rzr behind your RV on the interstate then beat the living crap out of it in Moab/Pismo/Ouray then load ‘er back up.

@@cmacblue42 yeah mate where I live a trip to the high country on a public holiday there are cops in 4x4’s and on dirt bikes that will fine you for tyres outside the guards and for my car a lift over 2” that isn’t engineered ‘ nanny state rules , but we love it anyway 👌

That sounds ace all that. Suspension stuff, also really like the Aussie yute style trays way more usefull modular situation with them. Truck is going to look smart, dirt box in Uk 🇬🇧 means something very different 😆 but that doesn’t matter nice one. Hoping to do May old truck with a tray this winter, if get other projects sorted. Ha good fence and gate stuff too, few years ago lived in Massachusetts for a couple of years we noticed not many people had fences. Took ages the fine some where to rent that would contain our German Shepard, anyway nice one go steady. Sam

I think in the US the truck bed itself is almost sacred and its uses combined with the fact that it looks good makes it hard to see just how utilitarian the flatbed systems are not to mention that some of the companies are making them so they compliment the truck and dont look out of place. All i can say is i cant wait to see the finished product on ur truck and hear ur feedback both pros and cons!

Good luck is "just" working hard and consistently so you set yourself up for opportunity. You deserve your opportunities, I like how the channel has progressed. Why don't you do cargo boxes with the flatbed so you can load the GFC on top of those? Bowen's has some cool samples of this, even with a for a topper/camper. I would think Dirtbox could something similar, I wouldn't give up my pop-up topper for anything.

Serious question regarding the all pro long travel kit. What’s the difference between this kit and the marlin crawler RCLT HD kit which came out a few years ago, the all pro kit look’s basically the same as the marlin crawler kit from the looks of it ? Truck is looking good dude 👍

Too early to tell the differences. I’m sure there’s geometry and spec differences, but yes. It’s similar from looks alone. I don’t even know all of the details yet.

This is another example of how overlanding isn’t feasible for everyday folks. It’s just too expensive. I’ve built a overland Toyota Tacoma..but ultimately I can’t afford to go on any trips comparable to what you see on KZbin. What a waste
