The waitress story reminds me of me when it comes to trying to believe my gut feeling. I remember a couple years back I was working at a gas station & during this time I wanted to be a mid to plus size model. Well a woman came in who used to stare at me and make sure that only I checked her out in line. Finally after 3 weeks she stated how beautiful she thought I was and how would I like to model for her and her husband? At first I thought that was weird to say to a 25 year old (they were in their mid to late 30s) but she said her husband is a photographer. So she showed me his portfolio….to me it looked good so a week later she showed up to the job with him. He handed me a card and said I was “perfect”. Months later they set up an appointment with me. This is when I felt a bit off. They stated they lived in Jacksonville which was an hour away from where the gas station I worked at was and that they needed gas and snacks….but there are hella gas stations in Jacksonville so why come all the way here? The wife said “We also booked the room for the shoot” (also in Jacksonville) but she also wanted to make sure we were still on for that day when I got off. I said yes of course but had an uneasy feeling once I got off work. So I asked my boyfriend to accompany me. As soon as we got there they looked like they had seen a ghost. They weren’t expecting him because I kept it vague like I was going alone. We get up to the room and it’s a big room with an indoor jacuzzi and a see through shower right there in the room. The only outfits they had were tiny lingerie…now I’m not exactly comfortable wearing stuff like that especially since I wasn’t comfortable with my body at the time so I tried on just one. They didn’t let me keep it either which was weirder. Most of the shoot was on the bed (come to find out later they had booked that room for 3 nights and they slept in that bed the night prior). They had a big pit bull dog and a 3rd person there with them. Long story but after a few pictures, my bf and I booked it the hell out of there. In that moment I knew had I went alone….I could have either been trafficked or they would have did whatever they wanted to me themselves……. To this day I don’t even care how I feel, if the feeling is off I’m not doing it….

@@darn_youThere's no doubt it happens. But a lot of stories jump to that conclusion way too quickly to the point where people are instantly afraid of a phenomenon that they themselves will never likely be a victim of. I liken it to ghost stories, there are a ton out there, but how many of them are true vs how many were minor incidents that people blow out of proportion.

Sounds to me like the guy with the red binder and black pen was running a maid service... He said he needed to move money, likely to a payroll account. He needed to pay his girls, the maids. He needed a new house, a new customer's house to clean... He was probably the owner of the cleaning service and the lady the night before was a manager of the cleaning crews. She probably told him about a girl she thought would be great for the crew and he came to check the waitress out, but she acted like such a weirdo that he left. Literally nothing about that story was unusual. The first lady wasn't even planning to come to the restaurant initially. She first tried to order takeout over the phone.

@slicedbread5692
@slicedbread5692 Жыл бұрын
Their legs obviously have joints like a dog. Or maybe they don't have bones in their legs at all and they just whip around like a spaghetti noodle... But more likely the story is fake like most of them are and the author isn't very smart. A lot of these stories have inconsistencies if you pay attention. In one story a while back a girl was at a movie theater with her "boyfriend" and she got scared by a man in the bathroom, then seconds later when the girl left the bathroom the story started referring to the "boyfriend" as her "husband"... It's pathetic they can't stay consistent for a 5 minute long story. Or in your case, they can't be bothered to remember which way their victim is being assaulted.

@@slicedbread5692That or they bring up a lot of unnecessary details that have nothing to do with the story. Usually the details pertain to the author and how they perceive themselves. The only real scary part of these stories is the number of people who have a main hero complex.

@Gu3ssWhatsN3XT Жыл бұрын
And how it took them some time to realize they were being choked 😂 like what? If someone starts choking me it’s not gonna take me anytime to know I’m being choked . The details about how they got away sound too damn fabricated. This ain’t no tv show or action movie 😂
@slicedbread5692
@slicedbread5692 Жыл бұрын
@@maxalan5546 another dead giveaway for the fake stories is the illogical reactions people have. They never call the police after being assaulted... And the authors always say the same overused lines like, "my blood ran cold" or "I'm not sure what his intentions were"

Come on, ain’t no FedEx gonna call anyone asking that info when they got it and the fact they mentioned nothing about even ordering a package leads me to believe the story either wasn’t real or the story writer is an idiot since they asked that question knowing they didn’t even order a package

'About to unpause and finish the video, but i have to say thank you. I've been listening for years and you have always brought me peace, listening to your voice through work, travel, chores and sleep. You included a story from an openly queer author and the horrors we go through deserve to be seen and heard too, and you handle them excellently by... well, just presenting them. No big disclaimers or overexplanation or other things that may give the listener pause to consider them as being "strange" or hugely unrelatable. Many people made bad-faith, hateful comments about the story you shared in this episode that was about the non-binary person being deadnamed and nearly kidnapped or hurt. Regardless, I find it meaningful and frankly heartwarming to see (hear? haha) representation like this. I don't care how many people don't understand what it's like, there are so so many of us who do and I would love to hear even more queer-authored horror stories in the future. I feel seen and heard and respected and I hope you do include us more. I'm getting rambly now, haha, so I'll go ahead and finish the video. I hope this comment reaches you because I know there are many people who may be afraid to put themselves out there by reaching out. Thanks again, Joel.
