1. Never accept the rate con that is from begining placing u in a FINE zone, ask for revised immediately. 2. If they have fees for late or any other kind, ask for equal detention time or ask to remove the fine, if not Refuse the load. Is not hard, just needs to be done consistently and this will end bad practices.

Drivers still haul for bad brokers because of the destination and weight. My load has 3 drops, tarps and goes to decent area, pass on it for a broker load from a bad actor.

@@blairm9000 Thank you for that ground breaking novel advice. Good luck with that. Now in the real world, life is not static. As we age and live on, life comes at us hard and unpredictable. Breaking! Millions of Americans with insomnia unable to sleep on queue, staring into space for hours. We age, physiology and medical, emotionally, trauma,stress, anxiety.... unable to sleep on demand. Stay awake?! Thousands of drivers are unbeknownst pre- diabetic, as OTR runs counter to THE GYM! Metabolism, blood pressures change from rookie driver to 20-30 year veteran. A new "Pete" is diametrically better performing than a "Pete" nearing a million miles. Our bodies are no different. We too decline in performance. Trucking management thinking it simply as "stay awake, plan better!" I say true, but be realistic. A basketball referee/official once got fed up with the crowd's constant criticism of his calls. He then stopped play, took his whistle off and handed it to a complaining spectator and said, "HERE!!,...YOU DO IT!! "

Don't forget, TQL built a $35 million dollar gym at their headquarters, most likely off of fines and not paying TONU or detention, or a fair rate in general. Meanwhile, they probably have donuts and bagels every morning for their employees.

This needs to reach the ears of the new Secretary of Transportation. He needs to know what the brokers are doing and how they are disrupting the trucking industry in the US. Many of the brokers do not even physically live in the US. This is disrespectful to the truckers and the US. We truckers pay for everything, diesel, truck maintenance, insurance and everything is very expensive. Many of the brokers do not physically live in the US, do not pay taxes and the brokers are mocking the truckers and the US. In my opinion, only US citizens and legal US residents should be brokers in the US trucking industry.

Best video you have done. I was often early to a shipper then bam. We can't load you till 5 hours later with no parking lot for trucks. Some brokers are good and some are grasping at straws. I refused to deal with TQL as a driver mainly because the not acceptable timeframe. I showed up once and the materials were not ready for two days. Don't get me wrong, I worked with a lot of reputable brokers that understood breakdowns but some were just overwhelming.

Volume is there I got today a load San Antonio TX to Bakersfield $2.2 x mile dry load unbelievable . We move the loads We make the heavy Job We have to get the Correct pay. As Miranda said TQL. Good Day, In my 29 years out here, I can assure you it’s never been about safety; and never will unless the powers that are, will be held accountable. Brokers that fine a driver for being late for a valid reason, traffic wreck etc…must use some common sense here; if NOT an attorney will eventually. Imagine a driver racing to get to a pick or delivery and they kill someone because they are afraid of the fine by the brokers. If only the general public, the American people knew what really goes on, to get things into the stores. Trucking has never been this egregious, until the “agent” of the brokerage is held accountable nothing will change. Imagine a young broker agent going to prison because the truck driver was afraid of being given a fine from the broker. I wonder how the managers at these brokerages sleep at night. They definitely aren’t the leaders they say and claim to be. Leaders don’t act like this, period. How is trucking worth it in 2025, when you literally risk everything daily, fines from brokers and prison for life. Is $80-$90k worth this? No way.

Hi Miranda, You’re so right, as usual, but there always will be a “but”, because it looks like trucking industry lost the balls to stand up for itself. Everyone is for themself in the chase of that mighty dollar and will only talk about standing up to bad brokers. In the last few years of crappy rates and unstable business we’ve heard so many talks about strikes, only to see them never go past all that talking. Seems like everyone forgot that strength is in numbers. I wish I could say that like you I love trucking industry, because I used to, but right now this industry became a magnet for all kind of scum, just like pretty much everything where money is involved.

Not really. It depends. They usually bring out the Carmack stuff….. TBH it’s the truckers fault really… they get this whole 1099, independent contractor, self employed, I’m my own boss crap, my truck my business. Then when it comes down to actual business. Have 0 clue how to find customers, don’t know how to give Quotes or estimates, don’t know how to manage multiple business relationship, don’t know how to maintain all paperwork for DOT audits, jump from motor carrier to motor carrier to motor carrier. Only to end up doing Brokered loads under different names, and different broker agents. But same shippers and same receivers.
@rudyl908
@rudyl908 Күн бұрын
It’s about Respect and Loyalty. If Truckers remained loyal to one place, paid their % for delegating back office task to the motor carrier. And Motor carrier focus on doing the back office stuff as good they could. Then the Motor carrier could use their weight properly to enforce charges. A carrier with less then 15 or 10 drivers doesn’t have that “advantage”. But if you have say 40+ drivers with 60+ trailers, best believe they’ll work with you. Cause last thing they want to do is scramble to find another company to replace you last second cause they’re just being D*cks. Nope not that easy to do either. Without taking major losses and screwing up their operations.

he he, yep you're good and pretty much have understanding about trucking, but not everything, like most of us. Anyway if you reed this comment I sure help you understanding a little bit more. Big brokers keeping low rates, and looks like nobody take it, and small brokers sell it in an hour, yes it's true but only partly. Almost all of small brokers, yes all with exemption are CH Robinson or another big broker, ha ha, it's a way to squeeze as much money as is possible, and even for that price they earn a lot of money! It's not conspiracy , it's something everyone owner operators knows.

Where's Donald Trump. He was supposed to fix trucking from day one. He must not be watching your videos.

LOL, he's a con man and he tends to use magical thinking to con vulnerable, low IQ people. It was all about getting votes. He's more worried about locking up federal prosecutors and letting domestic terrorists go free.

Ladies and Gentlemen, colleagues truck drivers!... I think that it's about time to show who we actually are... If we, every single one of us suddenly stop working for on a global scale for just one week, let's see where the World will be.😏I say: that move will send The Globe back in the times, before the creation of the fire... Prove me wrong and try what i just said - I dare you!... 😉😎
