A Truckie suffers a heart attack while driving a b-double tipper. Truck drivers, and men in general are hopeless at looking after their health. Learn from my story. This is part two to my story of working through a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA).
Not seeking medical attention and ignoring symptoms eventually leads this truck driver to a heart attack and a stroke.
Here is my story of heart attack and stroke that finally leads to a full resolution of a life threatening disorder that had been a ticking time bomb for forty seven years.
I will never forget just how lucky I am. Watch until the end to hear the incredible string of luck that kept me alive.
Never take your health for granted, without it you have nothing.

Thats a story to tell the grandkids Rob! I was in Epworth Richmond for 6-8 weeks last year after a prang on the Hume hwy. barred from driving until I proved capable. I still think that the receptionist from the last story needs her head read - no concern exhibited at all.

Free’s hello Rob very lucky mate, also in 2018 i had several 000 trips to Ipswich Hospital not feeling well at 62yrs on the 2nd trip they had done a blood test and i had to wait several hrs for the test to conclude. While this happened they did regular ECG and on the last I had pain in my chest and she caught it on the machine, the Dr came in just after and said the blood test showed I had a heart attack. A few days later I had a Code Blue event and they shifted me to the P.A. Hospital. After many dramas I eventually had tests and they put a Stent in . Came home on the Thursday and Monday I called 000 again. The paramedic was standing in front of me while her partner did tests and suddenly said what’s going on your whole face just changed. I said i feel great now, earlier I had made a cup of black coffe the first for some weeks. It was the caffeine that caused the problem i was later to be told if you’ve had heart problems don’t drink coffee or energy drinks. Very glad you’re now well and back on the road Rob as I and all who listen to you thoroughly enjoy your videos.

Glad all is well with you. My dad did not listen to his doctor, and lost his right leg below the knee because of it. He drank, smoked, chewed and was way over weight. He had a few heartattacks. Finally lost his life to one almost 20 years ago. Stay healthy and that is some great advice.

The other thing people need to be aware of. Just because you are experiencing these issues, if you are behind the wheel it may be safer to keep driving. When I had my stroke I was seven minutes away from a hospital, I made it in four. I had an insane amount of law enforcement/pursuit training as well as medical training so I knew I was so much better off driving and stopping if it got any worse. An ambulance would of taken fourty minutes versus four. The amount of people who told me I should of stopped and called an ambulance immediately aren't aware of world class training... Anyway, I attended the emergency department and despite showing signs of a stroke they told me unless I left immediately because they were blaming the symptoms on a mental illness (which I have never had) that they would lock myself up in a mental ward for weeks. So I ran back to my car, drove home for half an hour risking killing multiple civilians... Went to bed knowing the chance of myself waking up without being severely disabled or dead was slim. But I had no choice. Medical care on the Southside of Brisbane, private or public is extremely incompetent
