You should be able to buy a Scania specific transmission at a higher level and then select that in the transmission layout under settings for the most realistic method :)

I prefer these length videos. Definitely think 45 minutes is a sweet spot. On occasions you could stretch it an hour but 45 minutes is a sweet spot because I feel that 30 mins is too short.

I think you can turn the speed limiter of in the settings. Never seen the low bed with the steerable wheel in real life but the axle loads in Europe is more restricted than in the stats so usually you see more axles pr tons in Europe to spread the load.

Well, with Scania all of them are automatics now. But, you can switch it to shift like a classic Scania 12-speed. You'd have basically 3 gears to shift with a splitter, + reverse and low gear. Where 1st would be on an Eaton 18, it's N.

Usually most countrys have a speedlimit of 90km/h. (France, Poland, Italy). In germany the speedlimit for trucks is 80 km/h on the Autobahn. On country roads the limit is 60. So if you want to keep it real just keep the limiter. Geetings from a german Truck driver

None of the gearboxes in vanilla ETS2 are manual irl. The driver can only choose to shift sequentially up or down by pressing a button. None of them are shifted by an H-Shifter, but i think that with some modded trucks you have the option to install a manual trasmission that can be actually shifted with an H-Shifter: for example, the Scania R-4 series (Scania RJL mod) use the GRS manual trasmission, the Renault Magnum by Knox has the zf 16 s 2530 that can be shifted with an H-Shifter. I don't know about other trucks mod trasmission sadly. Hope this help somehow.

Hi, nice video series. IMHO you should've bought a Mercedes New Actros as your 1st truck. You can replace some of the painted cabin parts with the plastic variant and knock some €4000 off the base price. You start with a 420HP engine (instead of some 360 HP) and the cab already has all the deflectors. So no need to wait until level 8 for that...

Mike.. as a fellow American Trucker IRL, I think like me ETS will become your favorite vs ATS. For me its something different vs our trucks and Europe is beautiful. Not a lot of truck mods like ATS but a lot of Interior mods. Shit ton of map mods.

Be very careful about getting traffic tickets in ETS 2, because it is STEEP, especially when you become an owner-operator. Try to keep it within the speed limit, or if its unavoidable, go beyond just 2 kph over the legal speed limit.

You can get the 4 and 5series Scania with a shifter as well. The automatic gearbox is called opticruise. There is a Scania real transmitions mod on steam but can’t remember who did it.

In real life the speed limit of trucks is 87 but ets2 has is set to 90

Also I known here in the states alot of the Mercedes Benz engines in the big truck have turbo brakes instead of jake brakes we used to have a sterling rolloff and the one western-star I drove had Benz motors with turbo brakes. They don’t work anywhere near as good as a Jake brake and they sound horrible.

The dc13 engine you got in the truck now is the L6 version and the DC16 V8 is available from level 16 if I remember correctly

Pretty sure eu trucks are phasing shifters out for a few years now. Most trucks are automatic or atleast puah automatic much more than manuals

99% of trucks in Europe are automatic. Basically only those made before 2000s are manual but there is not that many of them, almost none. To sum it up every truck in ets2 would in reality be automatic.

@@MikePettGaming I think the sign your referring to is the one where there is a picture of the city with a bar over it. It means your leaving and the speed limit usually rises from 50 to 70 after the sign
