So here's another short documentary I created in response to so few dancers actually knowing what truckin' is or even those who teach it actually knowing how to do it. The dance "Truckin" or "Truck on Down" was popularized in Harlem in 1935. Various Harlem spots and entertainers took credit for popularizing it. I see most people either skipping side to side or chugging on their totes while wagging a finger. It originally was a heel pivot while strutting. But I don't give a lesson here on how to do it. But I do show you how to work up to spinning a tray or plate so you can enter The American Lindy hop Championships Truckin' Division next year. Take your solo jazz to the next level.
