Mike - I have nothing but respect for all you out there trucking across America. Right now it’s the truckers and the railroads getting the job done moving things to the stores into the hands of the folks at the stores. Thank you for what you do.

I drove 93 north to Vegas several years ago (pickup truck), running the speed limit in light traffic, when I noticed a car approaching from the rear, rapidly. It became several cars in a row. A dozen Lamborghini Countachs passed me, all running around 100 mph. All colors. It was awesome. I managed to fumble my camera out and got pics of the last few. Pretty damn cool.

Yea pot hole crews may be late gettin out this year after the winter. That’s all I do when I drive here in NYC, is steer around the pot holes. But it’s the least of my worries right now. Thank you for your service Mike.

Thank you for the great job you and the other truck drivers are doing during this crazy time! Enjoyed seeing the left fender mirror in the picture so I can help you watch for suicidal four wheelers.

All truckers deserve our sincere gratitude for what you do even in this emergency. You drive that truck like you own it by making sure you don't hit potholes which wears the truck out sooner. Hope your bosses see this. Be safe.

Hey Riding Shotgun, I wanted to let you know about an important update that just came down from the Navajo Nation - since I know you travel through often. Beginning today at 8pm, the reservation will have roadblock checkpoints that could delay traffic. This is as a result of mandated curfew in all parts of the reservation. This will go on indefinitely. The curfew is daily from 8pm - 5am. All other times will not have any checkpoints. This has potential to affect Hwy 89, 264 and 160 in Arizona. Hope this helps. Stay safe.

@101 Good morning, Mike. I am stuck at home, but enjoyed the Truck Videos and the scenery. I use to wheel steam ships many years ago (last century), I enjoyed the opportunity, listening to radio chatter and keeping wide of other vessels.

I watched your video but I didn't have time to comment, so now I forget what I would have noticed on your video to comment on. We spent the whole day working in our yard. My husband mowing and planting live plants in the raised garden. I had a mess of old seed packets so I figured I would give them a try. I think we may need our own gardens during these weird times. We also have about 16 fruit trees but the winds we had blew off the blossoms. I hope we get fruit. I did notice tons of plums starting. I am not thrilled about plums but the type we have aren't bad. Keep us informed what you see out and about. We got a call yesterday from our county saying we are in lockdown until April 31st. This isn't hard for us since we are retired but we do miss our occational visits from friends and family. We watch over our 98 year-old neighbor and his family aren't able to get out of SF as frequently as thry used to. At least (for now) there still is phone service. We found out yesterday that in Pacifica, CA where my husband's brother lives they can not leave the house period. They have their groceries brought to them. Maybe this is to keep people off the beaches....less vehicles to deal with.

Dad used to have to do the same thing when we would drive that highway, and old Route 66, because of the potholes. At one time in the late 70s while that was under construction, the highway department would shunt traffic off of 40, and back onto 66, which was a washboard. Some sections looked like they packed the red clay with decomposed granite, and paint a line on it, especially in construction zones.

Hi Mountain Man Mike. Good to see you are still driving. Stay safe and healthy. I had a coffee cup with a handle and a cup holder on my Harley. I started using a plastic straw in my coffee cup so I could drink while riding. Ever since I use a straw in all my drinks. When I get a coffee at a drive thru I always ask for a straw. I use the same one many times over.

I had a guy a couple days ago who saw the left lane closed sign yet still wanted to be in front of me. I had to take the shoulder to avoid collision and I gave him some airhorn. I use to camp in Golden Valley just outside of Kingman, AZ at a place called Adobe RV Park, nice honest people and monthly rent was really cheap for as nice as the park was and all the manager does there, like pancake breakfasts on Saturday mornings for free, ect. Hwy 40 has always been crappy far as I can remember, we always took 93 to Vegas for appts with doctors ect. Its a nice ride. I didn't mind it. Vegas is like a ghost town, and now AZ has closed its borders and you need a pass to drive to work my son said, nobody is allowed in from out of state. :(
