"Onward and Upward!" You heard it from a few older saints in church. It pops out of my mouth sometimes too. The older we get the more of those "old time" phrases will start popping out. You know...the ones you've heard your dad say a few times. Moving forward and eventually moving upward!

If you ever get stuck in South Florida, and can't get a load out I can pass along a contact for multi stop, multi day nursery loads going into GA, AL,TX, NC,SC, and the NE. Those nursery loads are not easy. Been there... My dad used to say, "It's not for the faint of heart". When folks at church would ask him what type of work was scheduled for a Saturday morning work/fellowship day that was his response. Nice way of saying you will be sweating, and getting your hands dirty.

Trucked for 47 years. Never trusted GPS. I CALLED EVERY CUSTOMER FOR DIRECTIONS. NEVER HAD AN ISSUE. I WROTE ALL DIRECTIONS DOWN AND FILED THEM. THAT WAY IF THERE IS A PROBLEM YOU HAVE DOCUMENTATION TO SHOW A COP OR A CUSTOMER. I PEDDLED PITTSBURGH FOR 2 YEARS. KEEP ON TRUCKING

Yeah man, gotta give you props for doing drops in those areas. I've done stupid loads numerous times in Pittsburgh & Philly, like I have the last couple days in Jersey topped off with my GPS telling me I couldn't go certain places as if it got old and senile on me. Takes nerves!

It's not "Pittsburghs" fault when people rely 100% on GPS directions, especially if you're a truck driver. When I did OTO, I always recon'd the route/specific area beforehand. To many times, I followed the "truck route" just to find out that certain areas had restrictions or construction, all of which I could've bypassed if I would've known prior to getting there. I also looked at the pickup/drop-off locations/areas surrounding them. GPS will always send to the front door/main entrance, then you find out theres a trucks only enterence and/or now you have to zig zag through oneway streets to get to the loading/unloading zone. Just more reasons why I went to line haul. Terminal, highway, terminal.

Are most State Turnpikes getting bought by Private owned companies?? I know Indiana Turnpike was Sold years ago... I believe. Use to be really nice NW Ohio to Chicago. Smooth roads but i heard Indiana toll roads falling apart now. I could be wrong but i always heard the State Sold out.

I had an awful experience in Pittsburgh as well. The highway was closed for construction. The detour brought me to a tunnel that wasn't for trucks. I had to break down my set of doubles and turn around... on a hill! I call it the nightmare on Corliss street. I wouldn't have recorded it either! Lol!

Its crazy to get in there in a pickup. Where did you go after East Liberty? I couldn't tell which store it was that was given you the hassel to wait 2 hours due to no pallets.

GPS always changes it’s mind on me. I check the settings so that it won’t reroute, then I scope out the route ahead of time and oh yeah I got this. THEN, it’s just what you said 🤯! GPS you’re killing me. When you find the right way in and out of these places you really feel like you have done something.

Pittsburgh is not easy at all. The buildings and off-ramps will cause your gps to get confused as to where you are. If you make the run again stop at conforti’s pizza in Irwin. It’s right on rt.30 between greensburg and north Versailles.
