This is 7 weeks' worth of pay, no home time in between, just hard work and a drive.

Per Diem has to do with taxes. It’s basically non-taxed mileage pay. The gov gives us a small break because it knows truckers have expenses on the road (mainly food, showers & other living expenses). Good things about Per-Diem: You pay less taxes Bad things about Per-Diem: -You pay less into Social Security so you will get less from Social Security when you retire. -it makes it appear to creditors like your income isn’t as high as it really is so you might have a bit more difficulty getting a high-dollar loan like a house for ex. -The term “per-diem” is BS…”per-diem” is supposed to be a dollar-for-dollar REIMBURSEMENT by the COMPANY for your expenses, not some little break on your taxes, so the name is misleading. -Some companies charge you 1cpm for keeping track of your per-Diem (which is total BS because it’s effortless for them) but some companies don’t. ** That being said, I take per-diem because imo paying less taxes is always a good thing and my company doesn’t charge the 1cpm fee.
@bigsmoothtruckin6 ай бұрын
Oh wow! I had no idea. Some one told me that it's just non taxable but no one broke it down like this. I really appreciate this brother, that makes a lot more sense. I don't think they charge us the 1cpm either, but that's crazy, a total scam. I guess the tax part is good. Thanks again bro, I love learning new things🙏🏽🙏🏽
