I enjoy your video's, I drove for 37 years and now retired, but I guess I will never understand why a driver that is making an unusual move, such as backing, doesn't use four ways, I was taught that in 1984, and I never saw any need in any truck stop for headlights, my headlights went off on the way in and didn't come back on till I was at the exit, anyway just an old grumpy driver that has probably said to much, keep up your video's and drive safe
@humpty318Ай бұрын
I totally agree with you. I had 25 years under my belt when medical issues caused me to quit driving. Two things that really aggravate me. Drivers always turning all of their lights off and those that park nose in. It’s so hard to back into a spot at night when someone doesn’t have their running lights on. THEN there’s those idiots that park with their headlights on all night, thus blinding the heck out of you. People that park nose in are not real truck drivers. They don’t understand how dangerous it is with their long tail sticking out into the parking lot and there’s a bigger chance of hitting something when you do back out. 🤷🏻♂️
@jackklingen4728Ай бұрын
That's what happens when you pull in rather then back in. Also, no four ways when backing? Be safe out there.
@acastleberry1Ай бұрын
Definitely a fact...as the filter gets dirtier, the fuel flow is reduced. If you don't change the filter, eventually the engine will starve for fuel and not run at all.
@jonathanbair523Ай бұрын
Yes a filter has to be clean to let the most fuel in.... The more junk it collects the less flow can pass threw it.... Just like rocks building up around a water intake, just like the air filter getting blocked, just like the DEF scrubbers thing that make the exhaust more clean before getting ejected into the air... Anytime any kind of filter gets blocked, then what it is filtering gets reduced and in time stopped....

I'm been driving afternoon shift for almost 25 years now. 4:00 pm till 3:00 am. I actually prefer the shift. As far as a fuel filter just change it as per the manufacturer suggestion.

I have the information for that question. Fuel filter is designed to remove water, in Its free state will not pass thru the filtering medium. A Fuel /water Separator is often used to remove water. Fuel filter can my need to be changed, because dirt and particulates can slow down performance.

Talk about deja vu. I spent many nights at that Flying J, waiting to deliver to that same Walmart. Always a live unload, Hershey candy. On Tuesdays and Sundays they have a skeleton crew, and it often takes 6 hours or more to get unloaded. Not to mention how slow they are about checking you in at the receiving window. I made quite a bit of $$$ for detention time there. It got so bad Hershey told them they would be charging Walmart for whatever detention time the carriers received. Still didn;t make them any faster

that looks like he did a offset backing maneuver.

Yes it can. It restricts the fuel to the engine.

Kevin and Tanya, enjoy the content, keep on trucking! Fuel filters do get dirty and will impede performance if not changed out regularly. Also, the diesel tanks at truck stops need to be maintained properly to avoid algae growth and moisture buildup that ultimately gets passed on to customers. By the way, I am a former Werner driver (twice) but now am retired. Stay safe!

Air Filter will effect performance a lot more than a dirty fuel filter.

I assume your talking about the Davco filter. The Davco filter doesnt need changed until the fuel reaches the top 1 inch of its plastic housing. This is because the filter is dirtiest at the bottom of the filter where the fuel flows through filter. The fuel level slowy rises in the filter housing as the filter becomes dirty starting at the bottom & slowly climbs up. I would have a hard time believing performance of truck is being affected since fuel can rise above the dirtiest part of the filter to the newest unused part of the filter.

I don’t know about the truck you drive but paccar use to have filter pressure gauge on the dash. The higher that pressure got the worst the performance. I have been at that D.C more times than I care to remember
@williampeters6004Ай бұрын
I was thinking just what you're saying about the pressure gauge. That would make so much sense to have that on the dashboard but it probably costs some money so they won't do it here add Crete

I work about four hours a day in the dark. Give her a tag I guess more maybe five hours a day in the dark in the winter time it’s not a big deal if you’re just talking driving down the interstate. Yeah you gotta try harder to see everything, but it just gets tricky when you go to a place or when you get off the interstate.

You want to hear about what we think of Kevin. I think you ukevin is a very pleasant man to listen to and you are good at talking about the things you do and it is so interesting that I am about to decide whether I should emigrate from Denmark and start a company as a truck driver. and also in the Crete carrier. and am I most likely to have my home base in Illinois approaching Kewannee. But I can't tell if you have a branch in Illinois. or whether I should take one of the companies that are for the teams in Illinios, I can't say. I'm a trained farmer so I want to start working as a farmer and save money for a CDL as I probably won't be able to use my Danish driving license in addition to farming. have to see if the farmer will sponsor a CDL for me when I have worked for him for a while.
@VRandAugmentedTrainingАй бұрын
Thanks for showing that Marten truck backing in.. It's interesting to me because he didn't do a 45 degree back, it looks like he had enough room to pull forward and wiggle his way back in. I have my CDL but I haven't started driving yet and most all the backing videos show drivers doing a 45.

Crete changes the fuel filters when you get a B service,the davco is a water separator and gets changed when fuel is near the top,I change my fuel filters at 15,000 mi
@williampeters6004Ай бұрын
That's interesting. You're saying as that filter liquid starts to rise inside of that unit that means it's collecting water I never knew that
@williampeters6004Ай бұрын
You change every 15,000 miles? Just like you said I think on B services they change it but that's approximately every 70,000 MI I'm pretty sure which doesn't make much sense leaving things so long and the engine oil as well goes 75,000 MI which to me is insane
@rickw6751Ай бұрын
@williampeters6004 yes as it fills up it's the contamination of the filter .I'm an O/O at crete I change my oil at 30,000 and lube and filters at 15000 ,7500 mi is crazy ask any mechanic

A dirty fuel filter will effort the performance of the truck the dirter the filter the less fuel will go through That is my opinion anyway
