My Hometown of Minturn until 1962. Born in Gilman in 1947, which was the mining town you passed with graffiti, miss my Hometown. Attended Highschool in Redcliff and rode the bus 5 days a week on this highway, winters were a little scary. Thank you for my ride, sure enjoyed it and was able to see my home that my father built, my beautiful stomping grounds. ❤️❤️❤️

The tracks alongside the road at Tennessee Pass are those of the D&RGWRR. They haven't seen regular use since the late 90s, although there has been talk recently of them being bought by someone in Kansas and re-opened for grain shipments. Tennessee Pass is/was the highest altitude (10,221' ASL) standard gauge main line RR crossing in North America.

14:00 - that ghost town is Gilman. Was on a snowmobile tour in 2006 that went up Notch Mountain Road...about 3/4 of the way up to the Tigiwon House, we stopped and the guide told us about Gilman being deserted in ‘84...the water system was contaminated with lead I believe. Crazy that it still looks the same 15 years after having been there

Talking about your transmission. My 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee is weird. From Kimball Nebraska to Scottsbluf Nebraska is never have to push in the overdrive button. It does it itself. Yet from Scottsbluf to Kimball on ever hill I have to kick it out of overdrive. Why? My only explanation is but yet it doesn't way look like it. Going to Scottsbluf is going downhill. To Kimball up hill. Yet I'm still going up and down hills. Still makes no real sense. Ideas or thoughts? You get into some of the most beautiful places. So thanks for taking us along.
