Team driving is where it’s at… I was driving solo for 3 years and I asked my buddy if I wanted to team and he came on board and they’ve been running us non stop Michigan to California and back…

Yeah it’s all good until you have a teammate that gets burnt out & delusional 😂. Happened to me & it’s why I won’t team again

Any driver who is experienced past 3 years should never work for a company that runs their company as if they want rookie drivers. The companies need the drivers more than the drivers need the company. I have been around and able to observe the changes too. Cameras I look at how the company uses them in the trucks it’s very important. Remember the truck driver knows more than highway patrol or office personnel in your company, it’s their job day in and day out. Let the company trust the driver except companies are affected by the violations the drivers get, so they think drivers don’t care if you get a violation when it does matter to the driver more than the company. So you said rule changes have reasons. How does a truck driver become as they are to the company? Punished for the wrongs of drivers past. As dot puts drivers a target so trucking companies will disrespect drivers. Not based on our performance but rather how they feel wronged by the past drivers. But no drivers no business. Companies are responsible for costs of the company, I would even go as far to say showers and reserved parking because we are on a wage for the company and that’s a cost of business.

There’s nothing we can do to control this industry except for pay. We need to hit them where it hurts. HOURLY PAY. ALL TIME PAID (ot after 40). As soon as you start pre trip you’re getting paid. If your at a cold storage for an hour or 8 your getting paid. This will force these trash carriers to negotiate better rates and focus more on dedicated lanes that get drivers home on the weekends. We do to much out here to be paid just cpm. If they are going to implement all these rules the only thing we can change is our pay. Cents per mile is outdated but notice that’s the only thing going unchanged. All megas run zip code to zip code so there even cheating you on miles. Drivers get cheated on miles, cheated sitting on docks, cheated checking reefer temps off the clock. No more sleeper berth or off duty on the dock, all on duty time let’s stop bending over backwards for the people who hate us let’s get what we deserve.

Supply and demand , simply figure out a way to reduce the amount of licensed drivers on the road , only then will the drivers have the advantage .
@HaVoC_TXАй бұрын
Supply and demand is basic business agreed but just because demand isn’t there doesn’t mean you sell at a loss or work for free. That’s why you have to get the big carriers in the industry to have there rates set at a certain minimum. And the only way to do that is to force them to pay company drivers every hour that they work even sitting at a dock. This would make the mega carriers the more expensive option and force even more loads on the spot market which I believe would make freight somewhat better. Because mega carriers arnt going anywhere but you have to find a way to make them haul for more. So we have to change the way they pay there employees. A couple lawsuits could fix this

@@HaVoC_TX Is what your proposing anywhere near a priority of any law maker ? , how often has it been mentioned during this election year ? . There are simply too many trucks and licensed drivers. As a result , pay and working conditions will probably never drastically change for over the road drivers , unless those 2 things are decreased .
@HaVoC_TXАй бұрын
People who work for mega carriers sue all the time and win. They suing for the wrong things those. Usually they sue being misclassified as lease operators. It doesn’t matter what lawmakers think. If a lawyer can win the case that’s how you change the laws.

@@HaVoC_TX You are referring to specic cases , rather than overhauling the standard of the industry and implementing *hourly pay for over the road drivers* . Are you the next Jimmy Hoffa ? , and if so what is your avenue for change ????. Although I do recall a democratic representative mention promoting changes in pay for OTR drivers a few years back , I have not heard of any thing since . As much as I would like to see that come to past , that type of change does not appear anywhere in the horizon . The only way that I can see that drastic of a change taking place , is by an *indirect action* that discourages new people and owner operators from getting into the industry .
