It’s interesting hearing so much about speed limiters by two people on the show who it seems haven’t operated a truck and have dealt with all of the various issues, especially going through different cities and congested areas.

Less regulation Smaller government the federal electronic logging-device mandate has not reduced accidents and its implementation correlates with an increase in unsafe driving incidents. When the trucking industry was deregulated, carriers were able to grow significantly due to increased competition, allowing them to expand their service areas, attract new customers by offering more competitive pricing, and focus on improving efficiency to stand out in the market, leading to overall business expansion and market share growth; essentially, deregulation removed barriers to entry, enabling new carriers to enter the market and forcing existing ones to adapt and innovate to remain competitive. The only thing that should be implemented is a bigger barrier of entry to get a cdl. For example ( to become a plumber you need a few years of school plus and apprenticeship program which all in all would take years. ) breading a higher caliber craftsman. Further more people that have never been behind the wheel of a semi should have no business setting industry regulations.

Enforcement of the speed limit on trucks will NOT make the roads more safe just like the eld mandate didn’t help with this issue. I would say if they were to limit trucks speed they should also limit cars speed right as they exit the manufacturer. Max speed limit in the US is probably 85mph in some parts of texas and some other places, so make it illegal for all the cars too to go over 85, and see what happens. Lack of professionalism and skill is the bigger problem here. Good job on the podcast tho, good quality content with good quality people. Keep it up

If my company installed face-forwarded camera in my truck I would be a much safer driver. I agree that we need mandatory faceforwarded camera. Lock trucks on certain speed is a bullshit. If you don’t watch porn while driving or not holding a cellphone, the face camera shouldn’t bother you. Denis I apologize I have not subscribed on your English KZbin channel earlier. Such a great information.

Денис Денис) the only regulation that brokers should face is it must be a US based entity with US based employees or contractors. The rest is free market. This will go for Dispatch services as well. You can’t make money in these great United States if you are not based in US this is the main issue in the industry. This is why the race to the bottom in the industry happens because if you were abroad, you don’t have to pay as much taxes. You don’t have to pay as much in your rent and your cost of living is a lot lower and this is why you can afford to run on smaller margins.

Theoretically yes, totally makes sense. I wish it could be regulated this way and we can all work in fair competition within USA 🇺🇸

@ the issue about about broker transparency is a stupid issue though. If you don’t like the rate, don’t take the load. It makes absolutely zero difference how much broker got paid. BUT if there were a broker transparency then every single broker will start a race to the bottom by undercutting each other with every shipper.

On the question of speed limits and road safety the best regulation would be if all four wheelers would be limited to 55 miles an hour and every time a driver uses his cell phone while driving or sitting in traffic, they would go to jail. I can assure you, the roads will be 1000% safer.

Although these are quite harsh and radical measures, they would really make a difference. Some will agree, but more to disagree.
@rbk77
@rbk77 Ай бұрын
@ of course everyone will disagree because nobody would want their vehicles have some type of speed limiters, it’s just trucking is the only place it can be enforced. Another thing is, trucks that limited to 60 or whatever, still will have no issues reaching 85mph+ especially in places like Tennessee with a lot of downhills. It’s not about speed limiters, if drivers cannot control themselves, they shouldn’t be behind a wheel. I never had a speed limiter on my truck, my average highway speed is 57mph.

The key is to let capitalism work without interference. The good companies will rise up to the top and bad companies will go out of business. The industry will regulate itself. Trucking was a glamorized and a great career in the 70s. And it been going downhill from them. The common denominator is REGULATION. Defund most the alphabet organizations (dot,fmsca, atf, irs etc). I didn’t say abolish just defund. Just my 2 cents ✌️
