You should keep your fuel tanks full, especially when the temperatures are going back and forth between freezing and thawing because moisture can condense out of the air. The more air in the tanks, the more moisture. It's no fun to have fuel problems in the cold.

jim crawford absolutely no. You cannot drink beer in your bunk. If you become a trucker, you can only drink if you’re not planning on getting in your truck for at least 34 hours. If you drink the night before a due out, then you’re legally drunk and you can lose your license. Don’t be dumb. Getting your CDL is a massive life change. Kiss all your partying ways goodbye
@tiredoldmechanic17914 жыл бұрын
@@goodluckwithallthat In Wisconsin, if you have a commercial driver's license, the legal blood alcohol content when driving your private, non-commercial vehicle is .04 instead of .08. You really can't risk drinking any alcohol. I had my CDL mainly for test driving trucks and occasionally driving one somewhere to work on another truck and bring a load back. I kept it after I retired because I occasionally drove for various dealers but I dropped it last year.

I’ve never driven a truck but I’ve worked in a warehouse unloading trucks for years and I can usually tell when it’s the drivers fault that pallets have fallen or are leaning bad. One tell tale sign that it’s the drivers fault is when multiple pallets are leaning in the same direction. You mentioned wrapping and that can be an issue but I think a bigger issue is how the pallets are stacked at the distribution center. Like stacking big heavy cases on top of light flimsy boxes. Great job, keep it up. I love your dog subtitles!

Retired in 2001 and now enjoy so many of the roads that you are on in Montana, Utah, Idaho etc. Take your time and enjoy the ride, don't pay attention to the negative there is so much to be thankful for and enjoy on the road. In time you will figger out what you can prepare before hand to take on the road with you for good food (not truck stop fast food ) Good luck in all your travels. Another great video and another long day at the coalface: multi-drops, moving load, light and dark, poor weather. Good to see that three years of varied experience have given you more than enough smarts to deal with it all. It would be great to meet some of the people that you encounter on your travels, whether at delivery/loading points, truckstops or anywhere else along the way. That may not be practical, but it would help to keep things fresh and varied. I suspect that you're not very tall because you make that truck seat seem huge! Looks very comfy though.

I’m going to school here soon but I have a tip for backing with a trailer in general! (My dad has done this all his life so he taught me with a small motorcycle trailer and now our travel trailer) Put your hand on the bottom of the wheel when backing and move your hand in the direction you want to back of the trailer to go, it shortcuts the thinking problem of “what direction do I go”
