This is only one part of New Plymouth. Mount Taranaki is 20 minutes away, beaches, parks. Parts of Last Samurai filmed here and Uruti. Awesome place, love it!!! Oh yes, logging trucks and trains.

If you look round the trucks you see some interesting things.... like the dude on the forklift trying to prove the theory they go quicker backwards than forwards

Does the logging lorries have weigh cells, what tonnage do they carry? 👍🏻

Log trucks do have load cells yes, and the carry weight ranges from 30 tonne payloads to upwards of 46 tonne. Really depends on the number of axles on the trailer and the site the logs are coming from. Some sites have bridges with a weight limit so they can't carry max weights all the time

I see Tavern still on the old Breaky Pub spent many an hour or 3 drinking in that place also the old BP Bitumen Plant behind the concrete wall I wonder if the valve box is still there for condensate loading great videos agaon Will maybe come out and sit on burgess Park Hill lost of these trucks pass my front door daily if you do a coffeee ot a beer maybe ready

What about Value added products?? Why all these logs exported? We have imported New Zealand Lumber into Micronesia for 20yrs, and now our orders cannot be filled. Even with Lumber increasing by 40% over the last 2yrs.

The amount of logging trucks coming in just on that day alone shows a rail service for logs should be established to reduce the number of heavy vehicles using the roads.

There’s already logs bought in by rail, these are mostly local Taranaki trucks.
