why do they change the engine preference depending on the brand of truck? If the isx or N14 is good in the Volvo why wouldn't it also be good in Kenworth and Peterbilt

Are y'all familiar with Heavy Haul at all? I was looking at getting a Volvo with the ISX but wasn't sure about getting a Tridem or getting dual drive with a tag.

do you recommend 2006 and older or 2007 and newer? Would a Detroit 12.7 or dd12 be good for OTR? i was looking at 2006 and older Coronado/Columbia or vnl780

I got a couple Detroit’s all 60 series 12.7 between 06-07 I say go for it there solid engines only thing is look out for the oil leaks and make sure it’s rebuilt if it’s more than around 700k miles or more I have 3 freightliner classics and there great for otr I got them chromed up and got some interior work done they do really well the only con I say is fuel mileage but it’s not too bad

Hello great info guys. Need some help. Just new guy into trucking. Starting over as cov19 spoiled my restaurant business in Chicagoland. So looking to work within 200miles of Chicago as owner operator. Freightliner 2014 or 2015 day cabs are good for this kind of work. I've already tried finding pre emission ones but no luck. Help would be highly appreciated 🙏.

Gurwinder singh try a FLD 120 with a Series 60 Detroit. A smaller cab with traditional looks but super reliable.

ISX = It SuX garbage engines theres a reason theyre called a cumapart. these emissions engines Detroit is the only modern engine to have this BS figured out. i have no trucks that have regen and I wouldnt own a Volvo if you put a gun to my head and forced me to take it for free.
