Listened to your advise and purchased a 2005 classic xl 14l with 1.2m miles. No proof of inframe rebuilt at 900k. It was standing for over a year. So far 5k to get it ready for the road. Will update on reliability

Have a pretty decent family support / Owner ops Lots of risk, my dad says I can't touch the money I'm making till 20-30k sitting for a rainy day. Lots of risk with the owner op side.. having the funds for that bad day(s)

The Mac 2016 .. yha , I also had warranty for the transmission (2015 vnl d13 ishift 450000 miles) . They will dig and do anything to fined a reason and not pay you., at the end I still payed from my poket , the company i work for had same issue with warranty with few trucks .thinking they ll pay you and waiting for them , you'll end up with no money and no job . Law suits take forever . It s a headache. I'm trying to catch up with what can go broke on vnl/Mac after certain miles so I can replace it before it happens and still getting in trouble. False codes will pay tricks on you a lot. Disconnecting the batteries (pos and neg) and resetting the codes can help you a lot before paying the dealer for some f up/made up investigation . BTW, I payed 12000$ for rebuild transsmition at around 600000miles Some have that issue earlier some over 800000miles .

I bought a 13 k truck before prices spiked up and i had to put 15k on it in a spam of 3 months, i do a lot of work myself and that wasn’t any major work like transmission or engine.

A radiator and a fan clutch isn't 35k. I expected a rebuild for that price. I think his buddy lied to him

There was a lot more involved in that final repair, but I honestly was drawing a blank to all of the repairs during the interview. He also had all his work done at a Volvo dealer rather than going to smaller shop with a cheaper rate.

That s way to much ...35k .! For vnl 2015 i shift I replaced my radiator (dealer with braket 1500 ) , I found online by original part nr 750 $ ( no braket) , plus cooling hose for coolant drain 120$ (from dealer, ) , coolant reservoir- 150$ online. 12000$ for transsmition rebuild, new clutch pump , new clutch and shop time ( it was 3 times taken down and put back up ). ... 35 k WAY TO MUCH .

Did you say 10%? When diesel alone has risen from $2.50 to $6.25 my friend, this is only 150% more than what you are talking about, add to that the price of charges, parts, maintenance, etc. and you tell me that?

he would be better off paying $3,000 a month payment on a brand new truck with warranty it looks like he doesn't know how to work on his own truck and he picked the wrong one to start off with

Lol does this still hold true in the market we are in now? 1.50 for loads so 3k for truck plus 1,500-1,700 for insurance for brand new truck. You would not survive in this market with a 3k truck note

Answer is if it’s taken care of yes it can and it will out last any truck. know your truck it’s your money maker but don’t fall in love with it if it’s time to part ways let it go sell and buy another keep it moving we’re here to make money not look cute. I’m out
