@@MarilynHaley-l8k Exactly!!! I like to think that I am receiving liberal minded peoples tax dollars in the form of a gov't cheque. I then donate those liberal dollars to the conservative party. This way the liberal minded individuals do their part to promote the conservative gov't and I get 75% back which is just pledged back to the conservatives anyway. It's not like I earned the money. Canadians will all end up paying for trudeau/Dogmeats generous gst cheque in the end anyway.

This will not help the low income single seniors who receive approximately $1600 as they do not buy, because they can not afford, the items which the GST is being lifted from. As for the $250 they will definitely not receive any of that. Seniors who rely on their government pensions will probably not benefit from the GST reduction either. How does the government manage to spend this kind of money when they refused to increase the seniors OAS by 10% or increase the low income single seniors pensions to a livable amount. OH YES of course since the Liberal and NDP parties are running out of funds this is a good way to use public money to raise votes.

Trudeau's proposal is so out of touch and deceptive. The GST is only removed for certain products. Many Canadians barely have funds for a Christmas dinner let alone gifts or clothes. Do some simple math.... If a person spent $2,000 a month on exempt items, they would save $100 for two months. ($2,000 @ 5%) Canadians can't spend a surplus $2,000/month on extras. What are the savings then for the average Canadian? The $250 check for working Canadians, if returns are filed, is already available as the Canada Workers Benefit on filed returns. The details aren't available on the $250 check. Is it another fake statement like Liberals are supporting seniors by providing CPP and OAS? In exchange for these hoaxes the Liberals move forward, and the $400 million fraud is disposed of without producing documents? I am not buying into it.
