The federal judge (Mosley) said that it was the fault of the inept and confused Ottawa police and exacerbated by an Ontario government which had abdicated it's responsibility. He said that the use of the emergencies act was too broad and should have only applied to Ontario and that if he was Prime Minister he would have probably done the same thing. The government is appealing the ruling. By the way...Pierre Trudeau was the one who gave us the charter in the first place..

How many hate speech laws has he created? You either have free speech or you don’t. Free speech means you are free to say anything aside from inciting violence or direct threats. Hate speech laws can be manipulated to suit one side of an issue such as this.
