In this video I will troubleshoot a true cooler that is not temping and will go over saturation temperatures and the PT chart for R134A.

⛔⛔No gas and go here⛔⛔ Thanks for sharing, your videos are appreciated I watch a lot of catering and refrigeration videos and you give the best technical explanation, that's from catering and refrigeration technician with over 30yrs experience. 👊

“Low charge” is not the problem. It’s a symptom of an actual real issue. Hate when guys just say “oh it’s a low charge just give it some gas...” 🙄

Thank you for the video man. You explain everything so well it’s greatly appreciated. Nice break down and good job finding that small leak.

You have good technique. I had been recovering freon to see how low it is or if a restriction has occurred. I'll start following your procedure. I've been in the field for 12 years. Never too late to improve. Thank you

Good to see you back online. Know that your original intended audience is your own staff and very much appreciate your sharing. I got the AAS HVACR degree from community college in 1990 but remained a bartender and later F&B manager for far too long. Finally got the EPA five years ago and have been taking care of most of the equipment at my facility for the past five years. Davejohnsonnola

Brother your videos are amazing I’m new In work like this I’m 26 I’m from Chicago. I’ve learned fairly skit working Rn for a service company. Going out diagnosing. I would love if you can help me read wiring diagrams like you I’d pay you. I didn’t go to school god gave me a chance and I’m sticking with it. I would love to be able to trouble shoot like you.

I’m thinking of doing some KZbin lives on Saturdays breaking down schematics. My computer I was making videos on broke in the summer so I’ll see if the boss can get me a new one.

4:50 - What would the pressures do here while adding refrigerant if there had been a restriction? I’m guessing the low would go back into a vacuum and the high wouldn’t change much? Is that right? Great video, BTW. Thanks.

Question ? How do you determine the TD of the different coils in different units/ manufacturers ? Thanks. And thanks again for sharing your knowledge
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH3 жыл бұрын
Most reach ins are 20td for the evap and walk ins are 10td but your superheat will ultimately determine that. For the condenser coil it gets complicated because most of the newer equipment uses a 15Td and a lot of the older stuff uses a 30TD. So it’s very important to understand saturation temps and from there you can make an educated guess as to what TD is being used.

How do you remove leak detector from schrader valves ? I usually use cap without gasket , then soap cap .

EPA allows nitrogen pressurization with a trace gas for leak checks, which can then be vented .When you recover the full charge with nitrogen mixed in and what do you do with it?

I wanted to buy it but couldn’t justify the extra couple hundred dollars for that feature. I am looking to get an H10 next and comparing them.

So did you leave the refrigerant in the system and add nitrogen just so you can have enough pressure to find a small leak? And then you will recover the contaminated refrigerant?
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH Жыл бұрын
Recover and leave a trace amount then add the nitrogen. Then purge the nitrogen to the air once the leak was located

Love ur troubleshooting skills. I have a question about line taps. Is there a place u dont put them on like discharge line. Trying to get a better sense on location for putting a line Tap on a sealed system if needed. Any ideas?
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH3 жыл бұрын
There is a stubby that comes out of the compressor, that is where you would hook up your low side. On the filter dryer, it will also have a stubby that has been pinched off. Attach the line tap there for you high side pressure. Do not leave the line taps on the system, they are just for troubleshooting and must be removed.

When you do the leak search with nitrogen, you add the nitrogen with the refrigerant in it, like mixingit? Or just nitrogen?
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH2 жыл бұрын
We need a trace amount of refrigerant in the system so that the leak detector can pick up the leak
@techti8792 Жыл бұрын
The leak detector you had originally which was that one? Which one you find more accurate the stratus or dtek 3?
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH Жыл бұрын
I don’t have a stratus, only dtek 3. It finds 95% of leaks. For the last 5% the H10 is my go to.
