Thanks for these videos. You make refrigeration so much easier to understand

Thanks so much for taking the time to make these videos while your working. I am a rookie in the industry and have learned quite a bit here on your channel. I particularly have a greater understanding when you incorporate design temp difference into your charts and graphs. Cheers man, you are one of the good guys!

This is an excellent vid, just a foot note when removing/disassembing the expansion valve power head always release the superheat spring tension so the carrier pins don't score into the power head while your replacing it

When brazing txv , do you use 15% or 45 ? If you use 45% , can you unsweat a 15 % brazed joint and then come back to braze it w 45%

If you had to unsweat a txv (inlet and outlet at 90 degrees to each other. Is there a preference as to which to unsweat 1st, 2nd , and last.

Do you have to drain the system down when you take the power head off? And if you take the power head off and you hear refrigerant does that mean something is stuck open?

Was that nylog u used for sealant ? And when loosening nut on txv I would move the heavy duty wrench up higher n ur wrench on nut lower n ur create a scissors motion to have them meet together. Looked like in video u wer turning wrench on nut but at same level of bigger wrench which can cause it to twist at liquid/suction line.
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH2 жыл бұрын
That’s the only angle I could get the big wrench on unfortunately. I used oil instead of nylog. Nylog is always my good to except on those TXV threads.

wondering if a variable speed fan ECM maybe would work instead of a head master ? or would that not work in insane Arctic conditions like you experience. 😂
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not, even with the Condensor fan off we can’t get the head pressure high enough on really cold days.
@gendronhvac-r12692 жыл бұрын
Hey man if you don't mind me asking. Can you do this on the typical txv or was this a q body.
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH2 жыл бұрын
I assume would be able to rebuild most valves, the issue is whether or not you can get the parts to rebuilt it. My area doesn’t have much for Danfoss valves.
@deanmohamed75752 жыл бұрын
This was a unique video. Thank you. Do you carry the sporlan rebuild kit or did you happen to have the same exact valve?
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH2 жыл бұрын
I don’t chage enough TXV’s to justify having the rebuild kit. Supplier was 15 minutes away so I just picked one up from there.
@jerryfrigeration2 жыл бұрын
Is that a magnet tester or rotation tester?
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH2 жыл бұрын
You can use it for rotation, I use it on solenoids so I don’t have to pull out the wires and test them with my meter. Works for all solenoids, great tool.

You should have just replaced the TXV, rebuild is for emergency purposes only if your out in BFE and you have an 800 rebuild kit on you.
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH2 жыл бұрын
Couldn’t get a hot work permit, had no choice. Like I was saying in the video, I always replace them as opposed to rebuilding.
@wd85572 жыл бұрын
@@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH Tip for you, when replacing them, use stay brite 8 with stay clean and mapp gas, can be done in seconds and better than brazing. You can use it anywhere in the system except at the compressor.

I will look into that, thanks for the tip

Still begs the question. So I looked it up and they sound stupid. A hot work permit is a safety document that is required for any work that involves the use of open flames, sparks, or heat that could potentially cause a fire or explosion. Hot work includes activities such as welding, cutting, brazing, soldering, grinding, and drilling.
