I have really enjoyed the Scofield series. It's truly amazing to me how so many people can't accept the free gift of salvation. Even after being told about the cross. How they struggle with admitting they are a sinner. Sure, faith isn't always the easiest. It's not tangible or something instant. The more I read the bible. When I'm able to come and listen or listen here. My belief in the gospel is strengthened. I trust and believe in Christ's finished work on the cross. Staying in that foundation is best for me. It's the easiest way for me to tell others about the free gift of grace. Thank you, God, for doing all the work you knew I couldn't. I don't deserve grace. I am grateful for it. Amen Thank you, Justin, for this series. It's been one of my favorites to date.

It's interesting how there's this universal underlying "understanding" in America that we all believe in the fundamentals, and the real differences are just in opinions about how we conduct church services. So we can all unify in spite our differences. Umm.. NO!! The differences are VERY FUNDAMENTAL! The differences are that most places cannot even find the front door of God's Salvation!

Now THIS is "Pauline" and Paul is even giving names: 2Tim 4:14-15: "Alexander the coppersmith DID ME much EVIL: the Lord reward him ACCORDING TO HIS WORKS: Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly WITHSTOOD OUR WORDS." 2Tim 4:10: "For Demas hath FORSAKEN ME, having LOVED THIS PRESENT WORLD, and is DEPARTED unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia." How is THAT not talking about the SAME subject as 1 John 2:19 and other does? 🤔

@@Over-for-now 1. It clearly says "The Saints", not some saints, nor Israel or Jacob, nor my people or anything hinting toward Jews. 2. It says "Commandments", not the law of Moses, nor Israel covenant; a new commandment is to love one another: John 13;34 3. Rapture of the living saints takes place after the resurrection of dead saints (1Th4;16-17, 1Co15;52). There is only one resurrection and gathering of Saints (Eph1;10) 4. There is only one body, one faith, one hope; Though there are multiple branches, there is only one tree, our Lord Jesus Christ; He does not separate nor holds different standards to some Saints. 5. When Jesus died the Covenant was renewed, because the death of the One Who made the Covenant (testament), brings an end to it. That's why Jesus said the New Covenant (testament) is in His blood. The only thing that remains for all are the commandments of Jesus, which is the Royal Law (James 2;8). >> Faith and Love
@interxyz
@interxyz 18 күн бұрын
@@Over-for-now (1) The text specifically mentions "The Saints" rather than referencing a specific group; it means ALL saints, ALL believer in Christ (2) It emphasizes "Commandments" not the Law of Moses; therefore including the new commandment to love one another as stated in John 13;34. (3) The sequence of events is that the living are caught up AFTER the resurrection of the deceased believers, according to scriptures like 1 Thessalonians 4;16-17 and 1 Corinthians 15;52. There is only ONE unified gathering of believers as expressed in Ephesians 1:10. (4) There is one body, one faith, and one hope; even with various branches, there remains one source, symbolized by the tree representing Jesus Christ. He treats all believers equally, not with different standards. There is therefore only ONE resurrection, gathering & changing of ALL saints at once. (5) The old covenant was renewed through Jesus's death; A covenant/testament comes to an end when the testator dies. This is why He referred to the New Covenant in His blood. (6) The enduring commandments are those of Jesus, which are repeated to gentiles by John after Paul's death; and encapsulated in the "Royal Law" (James 2;8). Faith and love are pivotal, not merely religious practices; Just as all fruit of the Spirit: Galatians 5;22-23 highlights that there is no law against them - rather, love fulfills the law.

Question for you: John’s letters and his Gospel were all written after the Pauline revelation. John had accepted the Pauline revelation at that point as he was the bishop in Ephesus. How then can you say John is at odds with Paul?
@ianrenwick6221

I mean one of the greatest verses on the extent of the atonement is in John and Paul agrees with John (1 John 2:2). How can this be if they aren’t speaking of the same gospel? I’m saying this as a MAD adherent who isn’t 12 out, which is a highly problematic position for the hyper-MAD adherents.
@ianrenwick6221
@ianrenwick6221 18 күн бұрын
Also, just because the Gospel of John describes past events it doesn’t mean John didn’t understand Paul. That’s a category error. Even Peter understood Paul and affirmed Paul’s writings as Scriptures (2 Peter 3:16). Did Peter not understand Pauline doctrine?

One example of how they are different is here: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭KJV‬‬ Paul wrote that we are saved by trusting the gospel, not by confessing our sins. What do you think? Do you see the difference?

So do you all believe when Saul committed suicide that he is in hell because he failed to have faith in God and keep his commandments? Or King Solomon when he built alters to his wives gods and his heart failed to go fully after God in the end he also was not saved? There’s so many examples of men who failed to live by faith and keep Gods commandments before the cross of Christ. I just didn’t know people believed this way you all teach. I’m floored that this exists.

@@gsulli Understand, sinners have been sinners since Adam. No sinners works could ever justify them in the sight of God. Faith in God's instructions to man is what justified them, in any dispensation, at any time. However, Israel was given the Mosaic Law, Israel had a Covenant to keep, Israel was required to evidence specific works to prove the sincerity of their justifying faith. What was the trust, the justifying faith they had? Whatever God instructed of them! It wasn't the cross of Christ, that's for sure! Remember Abraham had God speak to him about promises and wonderful things, he believed it, and God justified Abraham on that basis. Later, Abraham would receive additional instruction from God, a type of progressive revelation, telling him he was now required to be circumcised, and his household. He obeyed. Justifying faith continued to "evolve" if you wish to state it this way. God's instructions continued to be built through time, built on previous information, some added to, some changed. The means to be justified was always belief, trust. And when God instructed men to DO.... they did. When men failed, God provided a priesthood and means of sacrifice to deal with their failure. Fast forward, when Jesus came and began to preach of the kingdom of Heaven, God's instructions for Israel progressed even more! Some of them had trusted God's instructions up to that point. NOW... they were required to confess Jesus was the Christ, the son of God! Well.... that didn't go well for many of them. Some did that, others who had previously trusted God's instructions fell into unbelief. The means of justification was always trusting God's instructions to them. When those instructions developed further, God dispensing new and additional information, they were required to trust God in that additional information. Their justification was always on the basis of their enduring whatever life threw at them and not falling into unbelief. Pauline instruction is very different in all of these regards. It is not covenantal. It is not Mosaic law. It is not on the basis of our continuance of belief after we first believed, first trusted. What we are instructed to trust is different information than what God required Israel to trust and do. Our salvation is instant and permanent, eternal, and based on Jesus' work, not our work. We are not required covenantal works, laws, regulations, holy days, feasts, solemn assemblies, etc. Also if we fall into unbelief after we first believed, our spiritual position never changes. We are not required to endure to be saved some point in the future, we are saved the moment we firs trust the gospel of Grace, given by Paul.

@@gsulliThere’s a lot to unpack in your questions, much of which can be understood with diligent study of the King James Bible, rightly divided. I’m not sure if you have been following this series of teachings from Grace Ambassadors, but it has been a study of what C.I. Scofield got correct as a dispensationalist and what he got wrong. It was pointed out earlier in this series what he got correct, namely this statement. "In [Paul's] writings alone we find the doctrine, position, walk, and destiny of the church." ~ Scofield Reference Bible, Notes on Ephesians 3:6 Paul was given the dispensation of grace and is known as the apostle to the gentiles. This was an un-prophesied revelation; a mystery hidden in God. Paul was raised up after Israel, rejected their Messiah, and were concluded in unbelief. It was Israel’s job to bring light to the Gentiles, but since they couldn’t, while in unbelief, God made a way for all men to be reconciled to God without Israel, the covenants or law. Salvation is a free gift received by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. Many churches miss the mystery, and end up mixing law and grace. In other words, they mix up was prophesied with that which was hidden. The Grace Ambassadors website has abundant resources to help make this clear.

Eating flesh & drinking blood has to do with suffering & death. That's the same as the cross. See it as Pilgrim's Progress, in where Christians faith is revealed by endurance, in suffering and at the end death also. - Philippians 1;29 "For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;"
