i bought a condo in the pasig city area for 20k USD back in 2009 its not a fancy luxury condo but its nice . while im here in the states a have my wife relative rent it for $200 and i already have my ROI back so when i retire there i don't have to worry about rent.

Some people claim to live on $500 mth, but that isn't really 'living', its 'existing'. Living a comfortable life comparable to what you might back home isn't particularly cheap at all. Its cheaper than home but not 'cheap' by any means.

Very True! I’m going to do two other separate videos as well, one with Cost of Living in the Province, which is about 2/3 the cost of what’s shown in this video, and Cost of Living as a Filipino l, which is is about 1/3 the cost of what’s shown in this video. But I would say it’s roughly close to $2,000 USD/Month Living in Manila! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Hey there! Thanks for Watching 🙏 So the video was the average cost of living in Makati for a one bedroom. It’s definitely way more expensive in BGC, that’s probably the most expensive spot to move to, but also the cleanest/nicest. One bedrooms there start at about 50k. And best place to search for apartments or condos is on Facebook Marketplace. But yes if you have a family and are looking for a place large enough in BGC 100k and up is definitely the price. Sorry I wasn’t trying to be misleading, but I did the video based off my actual costs. No Family yet for me but hopefully one day!🙏🙏 I wish you and your family best of luck and safe travels! It’s the exact opposite time as NYC, so depending on your job/schedule it can be either really easy or hard. I’m normally out at night so I’m up during the daytime hours of NY. The internet at the apartment works great, rarely have an outage, except for when you forget to pay the bill! Hah and I’ve never had a power outage and been in that apartment for a year now. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

So nothing fancy but I switched to the instant coffee that’s popular here. But if I had to pay for one my apartment has a 24 hour Lawson with fresh grind brew at about 50php per cup so just shy of $1. A beer at a typical bar ranges from 130-160, so $2.50-$3 and for happy hour maybe 70-90, $1.50-$2. And at 7/11 it’s about 50php so $1. I’ll start the night with a 7/11 Red Horse for sure! Haha and LA Cafe depending on traffic is about an hour away from Makati, it’s a good time there, but there’s just so much in the Burgos area it’s hard to take the drive over there!

I just Subscribed .. I was in / out of PI 85' - 2010 .. "Retiring" 2025, want to head back, Travel, and home base there, prob in Makati (I like big cities).. I'd prefer Bangkok, But The Air Pollution there / in Thai is Sick (deal breaker for me "into basic health") .. "A little better there" (for Asia) but .. Question, do you notice the Air Pollution there / does it ever get to you ? And to rent a "Non Rabbit Hutch" Sized 1 br Condo / Apt .. Very Handy & walkable .. Is $500- 600 realistic or ? So, a person could live Very Good in Makati on $2200 mos (+) ?

That’s Awesome and Early Congrats 🍾 on Retirement! So first times coming out here I feel I got some gunk and sniffles with lots of yellow brown mucus from the air/new environment. Sorry to sound gross🙏 but since I’ve been here for a year I haven’t been sick once! So maybe got used to it, but I don’t feel it’s bad enough to bother me. And a lot of the apartments are small, I make do in mine it’s 3 of us living in a 2 bedroom, my buddy I split the apartment with and my Girlfriend. We’re out most of the time so it doesn’t really feel too overwhelming. And it’s about $700 for the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom. I did a video recently on cost of living and I’m coming in at about $1800/2200 a month right now for everything! And Thanks for Subscribing! Super Appreciate it! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Just giving ballpark opinions about the cost of things isn't very helpful. Retiring/moving to another country may be the most important decision for many/most people. Give actual examples of what you're talking about; show a $350/mo apartment, a $550/mo apartment, etc. Same with food costs; what's the difference in quality between $400 and $800? You said you're starting an "Information Series..." but what you're providing isn't very useful. Remember, without hard data, you're just another person with an opinion.
