@@leonardoodranoel4086 the equip spell negates but does not destroy. So if monarchs place's their field or continuous spell, it's initial effect (nothing) gets negated, and the card stays on the field to be used later

Surprising? No. Draco plays 7 floodgates and has endless draw power, Nekroz loses to all of them, and Nekroz has no S/T destruction, so yeah, that's a loss. Next match will be interesting, but Monarchs will probably prevail; Gaios is fantastic, but Monarchs have so much disruption, and Stormforth prevents Prince. Side deck would be interesting for sure; keep evolving that CBC!

I wouldn’t say they were especially unlucky, they beat out Dracopal in the groups and barely scraped through the Destiny HERO match-up. Even if they hadn’t met true draco here they were going to end up going out around here because the other decks just aren’t suited for them.

I dont know about the side deck idea, I mean most decks lose to a single card, I would prefer to avoid lists when they are selected that contains side deck cards like twin twister, D.Barrier (that was MORE than enough to settle some matches) so yeah you should make some changes on the lists imo and pls no one should say that you will hit the consistancy, because guysost decks that topped are 2015 and above which is a first in this series =). As most thought nekroz couldn't do much. Granted the draco engine did a lot, but it feels like it was just a draw engine towards MVP traps, with the monsters being secondary. In future cups, maybe excercise some caution towards how much a strategy relies on floodgating with generics, instead of progressing their own in-archtype engines. Regardless the idea of a side deck sounds brilliant, albeit might be quite a bit of decision making. (Do the decks side verbatim what was sided in their format only? Are they allowed to use other cards from up until their era?) I'm curious what people think. Also monarchs shall remain KINGS

It would be a very good idea to let decks use their side Decks for next year's cup. Although just make sure that those Side Decks are typical of what those Decks would Side Deck back when they were played (For example, a Deck that was from 2007 would use the same Side Deck that it used back in 2007, and a Deck from 2017 would use the same Side Deck that it used back in 2017). It really wouldn't be the Cross Banlist Cup if we just gave every deck access to something like Twin Twisters even if it wasn't around when the deck was being played.

I think a side deck would be a great idea for the cross banlist cup! It makes the match-ups a little less predictable. I think 3-1 for Extra deck Monarchs. I can see Mermails sneaking in one OTK when Monarchs brick, but other than that they got nothing.

I would be in favor of allowing side decking for next year's Cross banlist cup. For some decks, the mere existence of certain decks (like demonstrated here) pretty much makes it impossible for them to win. Last year also, Chaos never had a chance, despite how far it got, just because BA existed. Also 3-2 Monarchs. Two incredibly tough decks with a lot of otk potential, but monarchs are probably the better deck in terms of resource management.

Lithium, Side decking is not a good idea for these types of tournaments, simply because it widens the power gap between decks, and gives a bigger edge to modern decks as they have a bigger card pool to choose from. Imagine True Draco getting an Evenly Matched off on HAT, Pendulum, or Tele-DAD? Decks like Chaos or such older decks with a limited card pool will get bodied games 2 and 3 when the Twin Twisters, Mind Control, and Kaiju Slumbers come in, and upsets will become a lot less likely. A Cross Banlist Cup, as weird as this sounds, shouldn’t be about decks being fair. After all, we’re comparing how decks from one era do against decks from a different era, which means that there will inherently be mismatches and apparent powercreep.

Side decking would be great. Side decking was alway a core part of yugioh, and it missing here feels weird to me, as side decking is a way to balance certain matchups, and makes the game so much more interesting. I can see some problems, because the side deck is usually made in preparation to the meta, that some decks may have sided some weird cards, for example mask of restrict back when monarchs/true draco was a thing, completely destroying these things. Or cards missing for older decks, for example chaos not having twin twisters, will most certainly lose against certain floodgates deck, because of that. I dont know a way to balance that maybe make individual side decks for every deck, without the knowledge against which decks they may play, but what decks overall play in the tournament. Putting the idea of, "how to side against the meta" into a whole new perspective. Also the next match will be interesting, I think ed monarchs will take it, just because of the power they have. But it will be a close one I think.

Well, this was another massacre. True Draco just doesn't care at all about any of the things that Nekroz has in it's most powerful monsters; that being extra deck hate, while they have superior draw power and floodgates that shut downt everything they try to do. Honestly, I think that even full-power Nekroz would not be able to beat TD without Master Peace, let alone *with* him. As for the implementation of side decks in this cup, how would you go about it? Would you allow decks from a certain year to only side cards that were avaible up to the year from when they come from? It would make sense. It wouldn't do for 2003's Chaos to run Nibiru, don't you think? Besides, like I saw someone else comment here, combo decks usually put spell/trap removal in their side deck so that they can run more combo pieces & consistency boosters in their main deck. Finally, as for the prediction for next match, I'm gonna go with Monarchs 3 - 1 or 3 - 2.

Nekroz reached their limit, it has been shown that against the True draco they are not rivals. For the next match ED Monarchs will win 3-1 they have great advantage and consistency on the deck.
