The novel by Charles Portis is one of the best written books I've ever read. It's even used in writing courses for this reason. The movie has some great lines in it, including: Texas Ranger: "You don't think much of me, do you?" Cogburn: "I don't think of you at all."

Robert Duvall and Kim Darby are the only ones who are still alive. I heard that Kim Darby played the part of a 14 year old in that movie. It was a great John Wayne movie. The cast was great. Rip to the ones that passed away.
