Jamie Lee Curtis is SUCH a badass, she did that helicopter stunt for real! And to prove it again, she did it once more at the Oscars that year, being lowered to the stage from the rafters to announce an award. Legend.

@@jacquelinecallejas1390 YES! I'M a fan of hers since the FIRST Halloween movie in the 1970's. They totally ripped her off when it came to A Fish Called Wanda...I believe it was about the across the pond theme behind it. For as popular as it was, many people seem to be Lost in translation as to how important barristers are and the ins and ours of their legal system there. The US it's modeled after England's but not a complete copycat and I think that's where it lost some of its popularity. Jamie Lee Curtis really did accidentally lose her grip on the bedpost and fall. Luckily, Arnold's reaction is perfectly in character with Harry first worried she's hurt and then scrambling to get back in position, so they were able to put the shot in.

Why are pilots risking their careers by admitting there is no earth curve? Over 44 NASA, Government and military documents assume earth is flat and non-rotating. The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics says outerspace is fake; you can't have gas pressure next to a vacuum. You can collect $200,000 if you prove earth spin or curve. No one has ever proved this because there is no curve. Emergency flight paths make no sense on a globe and make perfect sense on a flat earth. NASA uses green screens and CGI to fool people into their spinning-ball religion. NASA has air bubbles in their "outerspace" videos because it's filmed underwater to fake weightlessness. Astronauts use wires and harnesses to fake weightlessness so people believe in the "outerspace" religion. Every picture of "outerspace" is a fake cartoon image that NASA admits is fake. .

This never happened unfortunately although I think the Arnold reaction was real. "At one point, Jim walked up and he whispered in my ear, 'If I get a pad, will you let go of the pole?' I said, 'Sure.' So they just wheeled in a little thin mat, on the ground, and we did it again, and I let go." - Jamie Lee Curtis (People Magazine Interview)

Cameron had intended to do at least another film, if not more - He was hoping to make it up to be a franchise, sort of like an American James Bond. The sequel was set to start production right after 2000 or so but he got off of it when 9/11 happened, saying he didn't think terrorism was something that could be made light of anymore.

You know those in a little basket on the counter to be looked at not used. The first I heard about it was about six months later when someone asked him if he still had that rose soap. He said yes, and that it was amazing how long a bar of soap would last when the only thing you washed with it was your asshole.

The bridge scene was all done practically, up to and including those harrier jumpjets belonging to the Florida Air National Guard. The bridge they shot the sequence on was the Old Keys Bridge, which was built in the early 20th Century. It was scheduled for demolition, being turned into a reef for the fish. If you look carefully, you can see the new bridge alongside the old bridge. Anyway, when the jets shoot a big hole in the Old Bridge, they actually shot a big hole in the Old Bridge (the truck that gets caught in the bridge explosion was a real truck, empty of course, that was being guided by a cable).

You guys now understand why Arnold was such a phenom and the biggest action star in the 90s. Made great movies like this one. James Cameron loved Bill Paxton. He did Aliens, Titanic & True lies with him and were pals. Robb Lowe tells a crazy story of Bill and James Cameron being in a submarine looking at the actual Titanic underwater. They had brunch and when they came back up, people were shocked looking at the news, the Twin Towers had gone down, as the date was 9/11/01

Watched this when it came out in the 90s. It's a great movie. You never can really go wrong with Arnold. Can we get The Quick and the Dead with Gene Hackman reaction please?

14:24 The original phrase should be "Women, can't live with them, can't live without them." to illustrate the duality of need. But that variation by Tom Arnold is amusing in the context of the plot. Thanks for the reaction of this classic and one of the best action films of time, guys...! 👍🏻

7:06 Favorite part: "What's that little thing?!" "Such a cute little guy!" and I legit wondered why they were slagging Eliza Dushku like that... I of course was just not observant and didn't recall the dog, but still: made me laugh 😅

Bill Paxton is an absolute legend, playing in most of the best action films ever. Re Arnold, he's got tons of good action movies (besides the most popular ones), like: "Raw Deal"; "Commando"; "The Running Man"; even "Red Sonja" is worth watching, though he is in a supporting role; "Eraser", somehow "similar" to "True Lies"; "Red Heat"; "End of Days"; you name it.

Jamie Lee Curtis is a great actress. Be sure to look for and watch her 1993 "Mother's Boys". She plays this psycho woman who walks out on her husband and kids, comes back three years later and turns their lives into a nightmare. Really worth watching.

A bit of Trivia around this movie: True Lies is an American remake of an 91's French comedy "La Totale!", who had some of the great names of the 70's/80's French comedy cinema. The Plot of True Lies is more or less the same( with off course exceptions) Claude Zidi, the French director of the movie, was in LA for a Foreign film Festival , and he also took the opportunity to have the movie Subbed in English and distributed on US market. Arnold's brother in Law saw the movie, and liked it, he called Arnold, who wanted to do an Action Familly comedy movie. He told him about the movie, invited him over and watched it with Him. Arnold loved the movie, and decided that he wanted to make an US adaptation of it, but that it needed more dynamism and action scenes (off course) he knew that at the time Cameron, his old pal, din't manage to secure the rights for his Spider-man movie adaptation, and so he was with a massive Hole in his agenda. He called him, talked to him about the Project, invited him over and despite not being sold at first, after seeing the movie and hearing Arnold's pitch, he decided to do it. Cameron's got in touch with Claude Zidi, who accepted to give them the rights for adaptation for a symbolic $, but still negociated a % on the movie revenues. AS stated by Cameron he kept all the important parts of "La Totale" in it, but added his own spin and also the first and 3rd acts are compeletly original "My goal was not to make a complet Remake, but to still keep the Spirit and Energy of the original movie". After that, the rest is history. While the critics are 50/50 about it, they all tend to agree that the comedy and action is good enough to make you pass an enjoyable moment. The movie will gross around 320 Millions $ world wide. The movie got an oscar Nomination for Best Visual Effects and Jamie Lee Curtis won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. The character played by Charlton Heston, who is the Agency Boss with the Eye Patch, is reference to Nick Fury (Cameron decided to include a Camoe of the character, even tho he couldn't make his Spiderman movie)

It's the remake of a French Action/Comedy called LA TOTALE, that Cameron discovered on TV while doing the promotion for a movie in France.

I loved this movie growing up, and I'm happy you guys reacted to this one. Such a great flick. 😁👍 Oh~! Here's some news for everyone's benefit. Despite the True Lies sequel getting canned years ago no thanks to the events of 9/11, it's getting a reboot as a TV series. At first I was skeptical, but since it's being headed up by some of the creatives behind "Burn Notice", another series based around spies, I'm reasonably hopeful that the TV series won't suck. 😋

This is a such a classic Arnold movie. But it's also directed by James Cameron hence the reason the action sequences were so amazing. Cameron is known for his commitment to great action sequences. The bridge getting brown up was NOT CGI either. The director got permission to utilize the old bridge and created the sequence. By the way, Avatar is amazing. I'm not into those types of movies but the Avatar movie was incredible.
