I think it’s important to note that nakaba says true magic when he means like raw power not like special ability. It would make sense because the dk always saw meliodas as an heir so if he was born with the dk level power and suppressed himself Over the years it would make sense that he’s much weaker. Not saying he doesn’t have a special ability just that I’ve seen people say that his hax are what put down the dk and I’m like nah it’s stated to be his power. I think erasure makes sense as some people speculate his power is called the destroyer. Which would make sense cause we know that magic is kind of genetic

You're right, True Magic is a flat out amp that drastically increases Meliodas' power. He does gain new abilities as well, but its not just an hax amp. The interesting thing is, is that despite magic being genetic, all their Demonic Lord powers are different. The DK just gets the Ruler, an overall defensive ability. Zeldris gets Ominous Nebula, a strong mixed ability based in both offense and defense. Then Meliodas just gets an outright offensive ability mixed with a new form. They're all very unique.

Imagine he not only uses his original magic but fuses it with assault mode. Like imagine the white suit but he gets a black coat of darkness (like in his asault mode), the demon mark/black eyes and his gloves and boots maybe mix (in his tmm they are golden and assault mode they are black, so maybe black gold gloves and boots). You can also say that in order to make it happen he has to basicaly go indra to boost his darness up enough. That way he would be insanely strong but kinda vulnerable. Not insane though, he is still stable. It would also fit well since chaos is mindless creation and meliodas would counter with destruction. Maybe as a final act he destroys something from arthur, maybe his weapon or part of his power, just so his death has a deeper meaning

I dont think his original magic is gone Remember when leaving purgatory he used it and there wasnt this form I believe he just lost his demon king power. Like he already had his og magic (wich wad destruction itself) but it wasnt strong enough to beat something on the level of gods. So he powered up to that level and was then able to destroy the curses wirh his magic Later what he sacrificed to destory the demon king wasnt his original magic but his demon king power. He even said so. He probably still has his magic, it just isnt at demon king level anymore. The white golden suit form is gone but the magic stays Works well in the sequel, since chaos is creating stuff it makes sence that meliodas counters by destroying the warped creations

I don't like how it was written out using the commandments it makes no sense that the commandments require a power so much greater than the dk to destroy and even then it's a tradeoff what would have been better is if he pulled that form out against the di and there's some back and forth monologue before meli basically mops all Britannia with the dk killing him and the ten commandments with a blast of destruction and then against chaos cath is when he trades his true magic away to seemingly destroy cath but little does he know he barely survives and then arthur showing a hint of what he would later become absorbs cath to retake that small bit of chaos

And yet he stated that even back then meliodas at his true form could probably beat him. So prime meliodas might even be stronger than we think. The problem I have with Meliodas true magic is that it came out of nowhere. There was no foreshadowing or mentioning of it until 2-3 chapters it came into play and it doesn't make much sense. Because after all, if he had this power all along why did he go after the commandments? Why didn't he use this power to break the curse for over 3000 years ago? In my opinion, this is Nakaba's bias and he gave Mel a power-up he didn't need.. Plus it makes no sense in how he killed the Demon King. He wiped out the commandments, sure, but it's confirmed that they are only half of the Demon King's existence. It makes no sense since the King can exist independently of his commandments.. but whatever, plot I guess to bring Chaos into the story. And nah, Meliodas is still inferior to Chaos and a full powered DK and SD IMO.

He not only destroyed the Commandments, but the entire Demon King, including the one in Purgatory, since if not Chaos couldn't be released and the curse would just regen. But since the curse died and Chaos was freed, its just that Meliodas can attack beings who exist in separate time-spaces. That or the Demon king is on a life link with the Commandments, but that's never really implied. Its likely Nakaba just forgot. I can see inferior to Chaos, but not the full power DK and SD, since in his base he's able to bully half the Demon King's power and even when not using his full power, is able to keep up with and damage his Prime Father, who would be the full power of the DK, and then with his true strength is stated to be well beyond his father. Though I respect your thoughts.

@@thatguywithapencil I don't think Meliodas can attack people in separate dimensions, that's a pretty far reach ability to suggest when there's not much to support it. Considering Nakaba retcons the story and creates plot hole after plot hole to hype Meliodas and forward the plot, I'd argue he just forgot or didn't care that he established the commandments as only half of the Demon King's existence. And as Chaos needs one of the Gods dead to be released, it was probably done just to forward the plot. Meliodas was said to be equal or comparable to the Gods at 50% of their original strength. I know Zeldris made a comment that hyped him, but we saw him fully unable to break the curse on Elizabeth or destroy the commandments without sacrificing his own powers to do (they effectively destroyed each other which implies equality of strength). If Mel is equal to the 100% Gods, why would he lose all his powers when destroying only 50% of the DK? He'd lose half of his powers or not at all. And tbh the power scaling went to complete shit by the time the Demon King came around. Diane and Merlin were able to damage him LMFAO, so I'm not surprised a base Meliodas can slap him around when in theory, he'd get fodderized in any form but his butterfly form. From all the statements and feat's implied SD + DK (100%) = Chaos > SD/DK (100%) > Meliodas (True Magic) = SD/DK (50%) Mel's feats just aren't equal to the Gods to say he's 100%

@@zaytexzanshin6077 Diane literally never damages the dk and only distracts him for the most part and Merlin uses infinity to amp herself and it’s been implied she’s a meliodas level threat since the early 200s when it was stated the gods thought that she could turn the tide of the war. While I agree there’s a lot of asspulls it’s not as many as you’d think and you just have to notice some of the foreshadowing. Like the am vs early noon escanor is clearly the weakest am meliodas as his base is the weakest and only escanor saw it before getting clobbered this is a little inconsistent but when you keep in mind that escanor got stronger after each use of sunshine we got it makes sense that a much weaker am mel could beat him. (I’m referring to escanor gaiden here)
