For some context behind this fight, Masakado's one of the new superbosses added to Vengeance; you can only fight him in the Canon of Creation after clearing a sidequest chain that starts with a quest requiring Yoshitsune in your party And you can either fight him as is, or make him even stronger by giving him the Kiou Sword, which you can only obtain from a prior Canon of Vengeance playthrough; he's a brutal damage sponge either way, but it's nice to see the cheese strats courtesy of Omega

You don't need to play Canon of Vengeance to get the sword, you can play Canon of Creation & get the same sword; I played CoC (Neutral then Law) & was able to fight Masakado just fine. The sword is the same as it was in Vanilla SMT5.

@@AngelKnightZeo713 Okay, to explain- When you fought Masakado, he probably had only 5 Press Turns after you gave him the Lord's Sword, right? What they're referring to is the Kinoki Sword, which you get in the new third area. If you got this sword, you'll get a small scene with Arahabaki who then takes the sword. Then when you beat him in your next CoC NG+ run, he'll hand over both swords. By giving the CoV sword to Masakado, you fight a beefed up version of him with higher stats and 7 press turns. You can fight Masakado perfectly normal in CoC. You don't even get anything new or special for beating his beefed up version. But it's there for people to work towards for fun.

Gg on the true match, it's still a headache that you have to go through a few NG+'s just to get the fight especially if you missed it on the 1st time in CoV

The 1 HP is to maximize Magatsuhi Adversity (more damage the lower your HP is)

Nah, they respawn in the quest itself, as they have different stats and stuff

why masakado never use diarama in your fight?

Because He only uses Diarama to replace the element you hit him with. His sequence goes from Phys to Dark at the start, and then he shifts it to the left (see attribute screen order to know what I mean) as he Magatsuhis (example: after the first Magatsuhi he will start with Fire and make his way back to Phys if you don't end his turns early). My Main elements here were Ice, Light and Dark, so he wasn't gonna use Diarama until he got to Ice at the earliest, but I was ending all his turns as early as possible and avoided using Ice as much once he was closer to Ice (and to hold Succession). By the time he shifted his sequence to start with Ice, I killed him, effectively skipping all his diaramas.
