They still seem kinda loud. Especially for someone who lives in an apartment

Would you take this over an ekit for at home fun? I’ve no other acoustic kit and just want to return to drums for a limited time each week. Thanks
@joebergaminidrums3 жыл бұрын
Well, this kit feels really good and is probably closer to the feel of a drum set than most electronic kits I have played. It is also easy to just pop on earbuds and play along to your favorite music (whereas with an e-kit you need to mix the sound of the tracks with the sound of the e-drums). But of course the e-kit gives you a reproduction of drum sounds. So it go either way, but the True Touch is fun to play and does give you sound separation like a drum set. Hope this helps.

Mr. Bergamini...great playing. If I recall you were Mark Guilianas first teacher. That's awesome! I was thinking about purchasing this since I'm stuck in an apartment with cranky neighbors. Do you think it's quiet enough for that?
@joebergaminidrums2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yep, Mark is a very special player and person! The True Touch kit is quiet, and so are the Quiet Tone cymbals, but they may be slightly audible through a wall, and would cause vibration through a floor. There are some neighbors who will complain if they here ANY sound at all... those types of people will complain about this kit. But it is very quiet. You can have a conversation right next to it while someone is playing.

@@joebergaminidrums That's kinda what I figured. Maybe just too loud for an apartment. Thanks for your response. Very kind...and wish you all the best 🙏

Would you recommend this over a similarly priced mesh e-drum set for practicing? I need a practice kit and debating whether to get this (which is about $500) or a cheap e-set…
@joebergaminidrums Жыл бұрын
It depends what you're looking for. The True Touch kit is great for quiet practice with something that approximates the feel of drums with varying pitches. Keep in mind with the True Touch kit, you need something for cymbals which will make it more expensive. The electric kits in that are in the price range of the True Touch don't feel anything like real drums to me, but they do offer, obviously, the sound of drums. So it's kind of a judgement on what you prefer.

Nice. Snare feels like a snare drum ? not like a typical bouncy mesh head ?
@joebergaminidrums3 жыл бұрын
This is a hard thing to respond to. Nothing really feels like a snare drum except a snare drum. Having said that, this feels great. It doesn't have the fake bounce of a mesh head, and it is tuneable so you can adjust the pitch and bounciness, just like a real head. I found it super comfortable to play.

I think this costs too much. It may work for some drummers, but not me. I'll just buy a regular acoustic drum kit and put the silent heads on 'em. I DO totally love those Sabian lower-volume cymbals, though. They have better snap and crispness than the Zildjians.
@joebergaminidrums Жыл бұрын
Just seeing this... It is a bit on the pricey side. The silent heads on an acoustic kit make basically no sound, while the True Touch gives you the same tonal feedback as a real kit. So it's a total preference thing.
