Yay, true winter! It took so many years for me to figure out that I am sort of a winter, which is less common than autumn and soft summer among East Asians. Tutu looks just fabulous on you and I think you pull off brighter lips quite nicely as well! And now I really want Garnet Pop! 😆 Thanks for another great video!

Brilliant explanation - I have restricted my wardrobe to very cool colours - and look so much better now. I use very cool colour eye-liner, no eyeshadow but matte white eyeliner pencil, cool toned liquid cheek colour and very cool burgundy and aubergine lip colours. Mascara matches the eyeliners!

I love these videos! It would be awesome to show all your favorite products for all the seasons. Its so hard to find eyeshadow palettes for winters! Even ones that are labeled as cool toned are sometimes too soft and look muddy on me or they aren't actually cool toned. I love the palette you used here I will try that!

I love this idea!!!! Back in the spring, I organized my colour cosmetics by their seasonal palette, and in the new year, there will be a lot more seasonal content looking at product picks and different looks. For winter eyeshadow palettes, you want to look for cool tones with higher levels of contrast, and deep/dark winter and bright/clear winter can handle some warm accents as their neighbour with warmer seasons. For dark/deep winter, i like the ColourPop Of Quartz, cool/true winter Natasha Denona Mini Xenon, and bright/clear winter Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde are some of my favourite picks for the seasons that help to capture the essence of the seasonal palette.

I have definitely been doing more dramatic books but is it possible for Winters to wear a natural look? Everything that I see everywhere it says that Winters should where high contrast and more dramatic looks which i love but I have always been a more natural makeup kinda gal 🤣 Sorry I am always commenting so much but I have been so interested in this lately!

@@NotAnotherHousewife Keep the comments coming because I love reading them so much! The true winter colour palette is one of my favourites as I find the colours so dreamy! Most resources will showcase more dramatic smokey looks, but a more natural or subtle look is possible! Black is a massive asset to the palette for adding depth and contrast, so you could easily apply a simple pale shimmer on the lid with a taupe-y contour in the socket with a black liner to create a subtle yet high contrast look, and then you can play up the winter flushes essence with glossy rose or berry lip and matching flush on the cheeks. Haha! Just imagining the look makes me feel giddy! Where did you do your online colour analysis? I recently did the one with BonnyStyling on Etsy, and I was beyond impressed!

Hi Zack!! I'm still not sure what my undertone is lol. I love my silver jewelry but I used to only wear gold so I feel I can do both. I'm thinking I can wear both cool and warm. I do love this cool look.. beautiful!! I'm learning so much!

Hi Leanna! Trying to figure out your undertone and seasonal color palette can be tricky. From watching your videos, I feel like your skin tone pulls more neutral. Since you do well with both warm and cool-toned makeup, you could fall into a transitional season like Light Summer. Although your new cool-toned hair colour brings so much brightness to your complexion, I am curious to see how you would do with True Summer colours. I was pro-draped as a Cool Winter last year, but I've been struggling with the recommended makeup. (That I of course went out and bought.) Like you, I have hazel green eyes, so I've always known I could wear purpley eyeshadows well. But the makeup colors I've been recommended recently - really bold, clear colors - look too much on me. Almost like Bright Winter makeup on somebody not Bright Winter. But I noticed you went with a muted, cool neutral purple instead of clear and fully cool. I've been trying to avoid anything muted since getting draped, but this looks SO much better and more wearable than the ones I bought from my suggested list. And I see no reason why it still wouldn't coordinate beautifully with all my new clear, Cool Winter colored tops. This was really helpful! Thanks. :)

Hi Leigh! I am thrilled you found this video helpful! While researching these videos, I saw a lot of "rules" that felt limiting, especially when coupled with makeup trends over the past few years and what I heard clients were looking for when I was working in makeup. Winter Cool and Winter Clear are filled with so many gorgeous shades, but they sometimes felt a bit much, so I decided to borrow some of the tonal shades from the Cool Summer palette, and that allowed me to keep the undertones the same, but softer, allowing my Cool Winter shades to pop! Hello Melanie! I have a few lists I have been working on since the summer! Whenever I have the time to walk around Sephora or Ulta, I swatch all I can and then come home to organize the colours into their different seasons. The lists should be on my website in early spring!

The lip color used in this tutorial was chosen to balance the True Winter palette’s cool and vibrant tones, but I can see how it might appear warmer depending on lighting or personal perception. Hi Angela! I have come to adore the different winter palettes, but for my day-to-day, I stick with my soft summer colours as I love a good dusty rose neutral. The Dior palette is stunning, and I think it would work well for you if you were going for a true winter or true summer look, depending on the shadow placement.
