Our favor, the checkerboard stars!😊, and the checkerboards placed with a plane block. It has more than antique flare to it. I remember my grandmother had one similar to that. It’s such a comfortable feel. Lol all of them though are beautiful. Thank you so so much for introducing those to us especially for a beginner I find it very very helpful and encouraging, and I’m excited to try it. Lol.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ keep them coming !❤😊

What a great idea. I'm not really a "quilter", but have made a few baby quilts for the grandkids and now great grandbabies. Do you always use 5 strips of fabric to do a trip around the world?
@TrueBlueQuilts
@TrueBlueQuilts Жыл бұрын
No, you can use any number. 5 strips make 10” blocks, and 6 strips will make 12” finished blocks. Have fun! 💙🎉💙

@TrueBlueQuilts definitely monochromatic the is just something about monochromatic colors schemes that I'm drawn too. I'm even a Sumi-e artist by trade berate they just calm me. Ohhh but could do a black white and grays but quilt with red thread.

Hi can you please tell me if I should keep the strips 18" long to make the trip around the world & also do I just continue making that same block until I get to the queen size quilt I'm making please and thank you. Awesome video. This will be my 2nd quilt. I really like the simplicity of sewing strips together & keeping the colors to a minimum I have no sense of color coordination it shows in my 1st quilt.
@TrueBlueQuilts

Color choices can be tricky! There is some math involved in figuring out the length of strips and number of blocks. I don’t have a pattern written for a Trip Around the World quilt…for scrappy quilts I just sew until it’s big enough, LOL. Check Bonnie Hunter’s website, she may have more detailed information about it. Happy Quilting!

I would love to do the checkerboard star quilt but I'm new at quilting and not sure I can do it unless I found a tutorial to work as I watch it!!
@TrueBlueQuilts
@TrueBlueQuilts Жыл бұрын
You can do it! The checkerboard portion is obviously made with strip sets. Then you add star points with either flying geese or half square triangles. A bit of quilt math depending on what size you want your quilt to be then you are ready to sew 👍
