Honestly, I cannot wait for Saturdays to come along to get my fix. And even hubby is now watching with me. We were discussing what makes your videos so special. And I've come to the conclusion that you guys have just exactly the right balance. The right amount of beautiful scenery, honest dialogue, dirty humour, nerdiness and information. Not to mention the craziness! It's the perfect mix and balance. The ending this week was priceless!!! I was killing myself laughing!!!If I had to find something to criticise, it would be that I'd love your videos to be longer. Could watch your videos for hours tbh, but 1/2 hour ones would be awesome, but will happily watch your 20minute videos instead. Keep em coming, but only as long as you're enjoying making them. Many years ago I took my daughter to Lapland for 5 days when she was 7, it was crazily expensive ,but cost per memory was peanuts :) As a fellow traveller (though in my 60's) I can't begin to tell you how much I am loving your adventures. The grip test is something I do too. Fun fact, winter tyres are called 'studless tyres' (or the Japanese version of the word which is sutadoresu) here as stud tyres became illegal from the winter of 1990-1991. I arrived in 1991 and I had tyres with all of the studs removed. Finland is absolutely beautiful. Many areas of Japan get heavy snowfall like this and the trees with all of the snow on them are just like what you saw. It is breathtaking, no matter how many times you see it. Some parts of Hokkaido are the only places in Japan where the temperature can drop to -40C and Japan is further south than the British Isles. Loved the last scene - John, you are a nutter. A brave nutter though and a good sport!!

Studded tires are illegal in many countries, mainly in those that doesn't get that much snow, like Germany. In Norway its legal with studded tires between 1 November and mid-April, and some places there is an extra fee to use studded tires.
