@@truebluetravellers I am still in awe, am a mechanical engineer myself but know my limitations when it comes to fit and finish, we are importing a 4WD Hiace and using a small company to do a basic fit-out so our journey is just starting, enjoy yours.

@@setildes we so wish sometimes we got a 4wd model, I put an lsd in this so it’s a bit more capable but a 4wd one is what I should of got really 😂, you will love yours , hope you get yours sorted soon and out on the open road

Have you ever thought about selling and making vans for other people, also I loved the video. It definitely looked like a fun experience.
@truebluetravellers Жыл бұрын
Thanks, yeah we really enjoyed it, I think I might start doing them to sell on full time, I just sold one before leaving the uk and that went well so it’s defiantly something I’m thinking about

Homy name is Chris and I'm about to fit out a van like yours can U tell me were u got your felt from and how much it cost, thanks Chris.
@truebluetravellers Жыл бұрын
I’m ever so sorry Chris but I can’t remember the cost of it now, we got it from a boat builder in Fremantle, we hunted round for a while for it and like I say boat builders/marine suppliers were the only ones who stocked it, cheapest tho would be eBay, it’s called 3 way stretch carpet 👍
@ChrisSnowdon-ud6uo11 ай бұрын
Hi again what material did you use on, thanks Chris.

is it enough space to have the bed sideways without a extension?
@truebluetravellers4 ай бұрын
For a short person yes, I can just about manage (175cm) but Jon at 190 it’s too small. We used the table and cushions from the chairs to make it full length so we could sleep length ways but still get up and use the loo etc this is the van tour is helpful kzbin.info/www/bejne/aarShmuElpWGabMsi=Ug1lY0DqSV5L6xj8

How long is the bed ?? As U have it width ways???
@truebluetravellers Жыл бұрын
It’s about 1.75m wide I think as my mrs can sleep sideways but I can’t, we use it sideways as like a day bed and sleep front to back at night, there’s a bit more info showing how it’s set up on our van tour video if you fancy a look 👍 kzbin.info/www/bejne/aarShmuElpWGabM Cheers

What is the carpet you used to line the walls?
@truebluetravellers Жыл бұрын
The carpet we used on this van was from a boating company who use it for hull lining, it’s pretty much the same as automotive 4 way stretch carpet which we have also used before to line campers with 😁

Hi, does converting a van into a camper in australia require other registration process for your car?
@truebluetravellers10 ай бұрын
Depends what state your in in oz as they all have different but Technically yes, your meant to get everything signed off by a electrician, engineer etc etc even removing seats your meant to but it’s not inforced and only really matters if you want to change the title from day a van into a camper We had no issues doing what we did and most others do it like this too 👍👍
