I have been eager to get involved in this new Digimon Card Game. When I was a little kid I had loads of the old TCG for Digimon the one that died out over here. I have always loved Digimon more than Pokemon and I think Purple is a solid deck type. I might have to save up and get the two starter decks for the extra cards. What Boxes have the best cards to work with this?

I appreciate all the videos that you are doing on the Digi TCG. I have been playing yugioh for a while but there really isnt a local scene in the area that I live, we have 1 card shop that hosts tournaments and even the crowd there is niche, but the Digi TCG seems to be very popular here. The other card shop holds multiple events for it per week and im definitely going to be buying a starter deck or 2. Edit: I went and bought 2 giga green structure decks and i am putting together a deck.

Question about the black deck. Tai Kamiya from the black deck can unsuspend a digimon when you use a blocker. So if you have 4 Tai's can you use it every time to keep unsuspending 1 blocker? Basically can you use the 4 Tais to create a blocker who can block 5 times by being unsuspended.

Theoretically yes but usually they attack with something that can destroy blockers or not attack at all. Good deterrent though, and you do can block 4 times if you can prevent deletion.

The only issue with the green one which is worth mentioning is the card it got limited... Hidden Potential. That card was VERY important in getting out HerculesKarbuterimon because the dude is a straight up 4 cost to digivolve which means nowadays you're likely losing your turn to bust him out. It's a great deck, I love green's suspending gimmick but it's worth remembering.

While I agree on many points here, I'd argue the purple starter has more long-term value. Blockers aside, the purple deck adds Dracmon, Nail Bone and, almost more importantly, Death Claw which are all fantastic tech options. Green sees needlespray, which is a solid aggressive flower canon upgrade, and HerculesKabuterimon, who looks to fall out of favor extremely quickly with how our formats only run for 2 months between sets (with Battle of Omni releasing in early August). Black, sadly brings very little to the table, with the only things of note being the Digitama, ToyAgumon, blocker and the Megadramon that gives blocker inheritable.

I also can't stress enough how important Hidden Potential Discovered was in breaking HerculesKarbuterimon especially with it being a 4 cost Digivolution. With that card at 1 even with a Mimi Tamer you're losing another turn if you want to get it out most of the time although that being said... the Chaosmon OTK within the deck still makes it a VERY strong option. Purple though reminds me a lot of YGO decks where the types of cards that ended up power creeping the games were typically ones that endlessly provided advantage from the graveyard offering free value and Nail Bone in tandem with cards like Anubismon is stupid. Black will be getting their D-Brigade buff soon enough but I'm not sure how good it actually is.

I’ve been waiting to on a couple gaia red starter decks I ordered online so i bought a booster box from my local shop in the meantime. My bud saw all the awesome cards I pulled and got the green deck here to play. I managed to make a wonky but balanced red deck with my boosters and was holding my own for a little bit before i got wiped and then dragged lol I wasn’t even mad because it was a smooth combo and both of our first games. It was a just a good time but boi was the green brutal when it started picking up.

Just wondering, can Angewomon activate her effect if wargreymon puts your security to 3 with his effect? IE: Your security stack is at 4. Wargreymon Attack with angewomon under him. Wargreymon attacks and takes one security to re-stand. Can angewomon now use her effect to then play a level 3?

Trust me when I say this bud, if you have friends who don't have a play mat with a memory gauge... then it's super helpful. Like tracking memory is one of the core mechanics of the game and it's absolutely fucking baffling that Bandai didn't bother including it on their own mats. When it comes down to it though... it's up to you bud.... choose the one you are most comfortable with whichever you enjoy.

I just started playing. Question about “triggers” , if it’s [main] trigger then does that mean I must activate it once I reach my main phase/ am on my main phase ? To me it’s like “ok, I drew this card and since it’s my main phase I must pay the memory cost of 4 and activate it” …. 🤷‍♀️

So here is my situation I had every intention to get into the game when it came out hardcore...assuming it would be like the old naruto tcg Bandai did and stock wouldn’t be limited.. so I have x2 war greymon decks I got by sheer luck at target...is it worth it to follow old how to upgrade guides ? Or should I be looking at future product at this point ? Cause at this point I’ve been waiting for “stock to come in” for months and I’m at the point of breaking and ordering cards online finally. yes, you will be able to get product now at your locals, however if you are expecting to get cards are Target/Walmart then you will be waiting awhile as near as i know neither store has vendors coming yet, in fact as i have heard Target and Walmart are ceasing carrying cards in general due to shitty shoplifters Also, do keep in mind, there is also a card stock shortage, as Konami, Bandai AND Wizards of the Coast use the same factory to print their cards, so there is actually an ongoing battle for card stock which Wizards seems to have the monopoly on, so product has been scarce for Yugioh, Dragonball Super TCG and Digimon CCG

Wait, you can suspend a tamer when the memory gauge is on your opponents side? Can someone give me a quick run down on this?

yes you can, certain effects can push memory to your side after it goes to your opponents, basically the whole effect has to resolve before turn is passed so when a card states "When a.....bla bla bla" in its effect, if the 1st effect triggers that effect, then if the memory is pushed to your opponent but then pushed back to you, you can still continue A good example of this is Darkdramon, he is a 13 cost to play that has "On Play" When this card is played you may target up to 5 D-Brigade card and place them on the top of your deck in any order, gain 2 memory for every card returned this way" Paraphrasing it off the top of my head, so wording is not exact, but that is close enough.......so if you had say 4 memory and hard played him, he would push the memory to your opponent, but because you are still resolving his effect turn does not pass yet, then you place say 5 D-brigade cards and gain 10 memory, pushing the guage back to your side, thus continuing to play the game......... i hope that clarifies enough for you, i actually just topped my locals with this deck, and had a judge call on that one, so fairly certain it would work in the tamer situation too

So once Needle Spray resolves I thought it's immediately your opponents turn since the memory gauge is at 1 meaning you can't suspend Izzy anymore. If that's not the case then the tamer is a bit better than I thought.

@@LimmBurger yes, if you play it on your turn, and it pushes the guage to your opponent, it would still trigger the Izzy, because Izzy would technically be creating a "chain" ((yes i know Chains do not exist in Digimon) but Izzy has the "When your opponents digimon is suspended, you may suspend this tamer to gain one memory" however if Needle Spray is hit on the opponents turn, then no, because Izzy says "Your turn" Keyword Skill sorry, was not sure what tamer you were referring to when i gave my answer, my apologies

@@LimmBurger that is indeed the case, you can still suspend izzy, because while it is a "Your turn" ability you are still able to meet its requirements to suspend him to gain a memory, as you are still in a window because "When" is your window to use that ability, all the effects are resolving together Think of it this way "when "needle spray" suspends a digimon, suspend this tamer to gain a memory" because you are using the tamer WHEN needle spray suspends a digimon unless someone can verify that "when" is not a window, however, as it is in DBS, and both games have VERY similar effects and keyword text, i am fairly certain the window is still "When"
