This reminds me of the story of Mary Kay Letourneau, the teacher who groomed her student Vili Fualaau in the USA. I think he was 13 or 14 when they started their “relationship” and same story. He was so manipulated that they even got married. It’s was at a time where the knowledge nor comprehension we have today so he wasn’t able to understand what was truly happening. But in their last interview together before she passed away we can see that there was something off. He contradicted her many times, at moments he reacted with rolling eyes or with a smirk when he disagreed with the story about how all started. We could feel that he came into realization that it was an abuse. She had cancer at that moment so it’s easy to understand that he was still with her for obvious reasons but the tension was palpable. She was always monopolizing the conversation with the host preventing him to speak. She was talking about the great love they still had for one another while he was like: that’s BS. I understood while watching the interview that now as an adult and father of teenagers he came to the understanding that he was a child and that he was groomed but got it very late. Shout out for this young man sharing his story, his strength and intelligence. I hope he’ll be able to reunite with her daughter and be the father he wants to be for her daughter. I wish him the best.

I find the timings of having the baby and the abuse ceasing very telling in this theory.

@elizabethryan2217 “Failure to protect” from abuse is the legislation he would be guilty under where I am. That’s a child protection charge. It’s not always taken to criminal court, however, it is legal grounds for intrusive intervention in the family. As a biological parent, he owns the legal responsibility to protect or yes, he is a party to abuse and guilty of failure to protect from abuse. He has failed to be a protective and safe parent. As a result, he’s failed his son in every way.
@elizabethryan221717 күн бұрын
@littleMissXeOBA hi 🙂 I'm not saying he didn't fail his son. Lots of parents fail their kids in lots of ways. And lots of parents are brokenhearted find out in later years that their kids were abused without their knowledge. That doesn't make them abusers themselves necessarily, although i know that people sometimes turn a blind eye. They *may* have been negligent, but in this case, I would say that's difficult to say until you hear the Dad's side of the story. People who know an abuser but don't know what they're up to are not necessarily negligent or abusive themselves.

Some people do escape consequences here on earth. My question to you is "what if she repents" does God still punish her? I have never heard this addressed?
@lorrainedahler5423Ай бұрын
@ my basic understanding is yes, through true confession & repentance (while living) there is forgiveness. God is a righteous judge. The Bible mentions only one unforgivable sin which is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (also called “the sin unto death”) in specific passages from Mark, Matthew, Luke..
@KathyStrickland-nh9vxАй бұрын
@@lorrainedahler5423 Thank you for responding and I don't mean to put you on the spot. I know God being God, can do anything and whatever He does is good but another question. If a person repents and God forgives doesn't that sometime mean that we are never punished for our sins? Thusly, some never suffer the consequences for what they have done. I know these are theological questions but even as a Christian, and I'm not saying this is right, I see people that I would like to see punished. I know it's not my job and I have a long way to go but sometimes one just wants to see some justice. Sorry for the rant.
@lorrainedahler5423Ай бұрын
@ not a rant, your points valid, and I too think the same at times, want to see the consequences of wrong doing in the Now! It seems unfair. God is good - but He is Just- all who enter His gates, will also need to give an account of the matters here on earth, how we lived. He will judge, and He decides what our final and eternal destiny will be or is. For some he will say “depart, I never knew you”! There are various levels of honour in Heaven is my understanding. It will be according to what we have done in his name here on earth. According to scripture, the gateway is narrow. None of us know with certainty, but we are given a chance to make it right before Him while on earth. After death, is too late.

Thinking this step mom was in her 20s, young step mom, he felt puppy love it doesn’t seem like they are too far apart in age. Dad wanted a young bride, she scammed both of them, now this poor guy will have a void in his heart until he reunites with his little girl

Thanks for sharing your story But why not go to police ? She’s a predator and will most likely commit this heinous crime again

The dad caught him and the wife when he was a minor and told him not to say anything about it. The dad clearly turned a blind eye to what was going on right under his nose
