That doesn’t mean you can’t talk to the police to clear your name but you need the guidance of an attorney. Police bank on the idea that a suspect will think it makes them look guilty to lawyer up as it’s called and therefore will answer questions without an attorney. Getting legal help doesn’t make you look guilty, it makes you smart. Many innocent people try to clear themselves when innocent just to get in deeper when answering questions by police. Remember, the police are not your friend and have a job to do and sometimes they are way off on who they suspect of a crime. It’s your job to protect yourself by getting professional advice. Don’t get me started if you should take a lie detector test even if innocent........
