Definitely. Especially if someone attempts to abduct you from an areas with at least some people around. Screaming and running isn't going to help much if you're taken in a desolate area. I think I'd go with without a fight then, in the hopes of getting to a place where someone could hear and see me and hopefully help. I'm not sure if I'd be able to think that clearly if I had a knife to my throat, though... 😱

It's somewhat of a procedure to give such treatment to serial killers because based on the FBI's BSU the best way to get such a highly organized killer as Keyes to volunteer any kind of information is to 'befriend' him. Talking about the murders nonchalantly, laughing with him and stuff is an act. It can be pretty disturbing to see, especially when investigators openly victim blame and sympathize with the killer. To catch a monster, to understand it, you need to think and speak like one. If you are interested in understanding the history and reasoning behind this method of interrogation I'd recommend checking out Mindhunter. In case you do, I have to warn you that it contains very triggering stuff, even by my standards. Despite dealing with CSA and childhood abuse in my past, I keep up with true crime cases and have little to no problem distancing myself emotionally (even with the grimmest cases, such as the Tool Box Killers, the Ken and Barbie killers and Sylvia Likens) but the last episode of season one really got to me quite bad because of the interrogation scene. Brilliant acting, honestly.

He would have just kept going and going, such elaborate planning and the ease he switched gears to 'be a Dad' is horrifying. His daily to do list included, 1. Murdered captured tortured girl. 2. Cut up body into bits. 3. Dispose of under ice in lake. 4. Attend Parents Evening and discuss how daughter is doing in Geography. Unreal.

@Babylonian Cowboy this act is reminiscent of another killer who kidnapped a businessman's small daughter in the early 1920s. The kidnapper sent a ransom to her father to be paid for her release. At the time of the exchange (money and hostage) the father wanted to see his daughter before he gave up the ransom. The ransomer displayed her from a distance and the father was satisfied. He paid the ransom and the killer got away (for the time being). Only after the father ran to embrace his daughter did he realize she was a puppet. The kidnapper turned killer had sowed her eyes open, disarticulated her upper and lower appendages, disemboweled her, and stuffed matter in the cavity to make it appear 'normal'. It has been speculated that Ayn Rand used this real-life killer as her inspiration for John Gault. Recently a similar reenactment was created in the re-booted Perry Mason tv show.
@bobtaylor170
@bobtaylor170 2 жыл бұрын
@Babylonian Cowboy , how do you know that? It seems to me that it's what the FBI would say to try to minimize the public's horror: the photo is a fake. Obviously, once the photo is online, there's nothing anyone can do to stop its being circulated forever, so if people can be convinced the photo isn't real, that's almost as good.
@bobtaylor170
@bobtaylor170 2 жыл бұрын
@Babylonian Cowboy , I don't know the case as well as you, obviously. And what I've outlined is not a conspiracy theory. Conspiracy theories have a lot of steps in them. This has one: that the photo is real, the government can do nothing about its being there, and is actually doing the only decent thing it could do, lying to the public in order to keep them as minimally creeped out as possible. That's sure some conspiracy theory, isn't it? As for your last paragraph, it's exactly the sort of move a malignant narcissist would make. Maybe you've been a little too taken with Israel Keyes.

@@KourtneeMonroe , Oh that is sad. I haven’t seen the Samantha photo. I struggled to accept that Bland was dead in that photo, and I stared long and hard. What was damning was of course the background, and that her head was leaning against it. (and of course ALL the tampered videos, the crazy arresting officer, and the fact that she was an activist, etc. ) What ultimately decided me was that her eyes seemed focused on the camera and did not look dead. But now, if Samantha’s OWN FAMILY thought she was alive in a photo when she was deceased, well, clearly it’s possible, and I was mistaken. Sandra Bland’s was deceased in her so-called mugshot. (My theory is she died from a head wound or complications of was it epilepsy brought on by the head wound when arresting a**hole slammed her head on the ground. And his cronies tried to insert into the narrative that she had kicked him, saying it WAY too many times, all off camera, and saying “good thing you have that on video.” Well, he didn’t have it on video, and officer corrupt thought saying it made it true. There’s a video by a good video expert showing how both the video at scene and at the jailhouse was massively manipulated. They either did that while photographing her and setting the scene, or to commit first degree murder. IMO.

Thank God he was caught, and at least he saved the state/federal government some money by offing himself.... That’s pretty callous but it just makes me so mad that some people think that much of themselves, and so little of others. I hope all of his victims families find peace.

I wish I could’ve given her the strength to scream or fight or courage to run. it’s in no way her fault not one bit but ladies you HAVE TO fight for your life the second it becomes in danger. if you wait til after you’re taken your chances are so slim 😕 rest in love beautiful

Holy Crap is right Amy. I definitely believe there are more victims. This case is extremely difficult to swallow. Just knowing these horrific murders have gone down makes me feel ill and scared. I always carry a big can of pepper spray with a hand holster so it's on me at all times whenever I am outside even if it's for 5 minutes. Becoming a true crime Enthusiast, that's a weird word but you know what I mean, has really made me get weapons and learn how to use those weapons and be able to carry two of the weapons on me at all times. You can't trust anyone it just seems like that's the way it goes. you can't trust anyone including law enforcement. Thank you for a very very good well done video. I appreciate the hard work you guys put into these videos and their research Etc. Have a good one.

Please don't take this as ingratitude for your great videos, but: I just *hate it* when channel owners stick ad promos in the middle of their videos! It's extremely disruptive and I just want to click off. Bad enough we have to endure all the KZbin ads and their terribly timed intrusions... but to get them inserted by the content creator is just too much! I hope you get sufficient feedback from viewers and subscribers about this, so that you'll change this practice. Thanks.
