@Qaos

It's because they're not thinking in the right way to mess things up! You need to think of traits which would not mesh well with most others like a specific environment that requires specialised traits to survive in, an ability or power which is very heavily formed around or geared towards a specific type, or a very defining body shape that makes certain attributes very hard to include.

I just realized how perfect the Psychic/Electric typing would be for a Pokémon that lives in the sewers. I associate sewers with the Water and Poison types, so a Psychic/Electric type would have STAB super effective moves against both those types. I could honestly see Psychick as a Volcarona style, "legendary fake out" static encounter in a late-game side area that's a multi-level sewer dungeon.
@declanmckenna6854
@declanmckenna6854 Жыл бұрын
And also Sewers would probably have a few Dark types as well. So the Electric type gives it neutral coverage against what would likely be its predators and Parental Bond is the perfect ability for a predator species that is also prey for another species in its environment.

The city of Basel (switzerland) has a mythic monster called the "basilisk", which is based of a Cocktrice; which is said to live in the sewers. So the idea absolutely works for me!!!
@Nehu_22
@Nehu_22 Жыл бұрын
Harry Potter's basilisk also technically lives in the sewers. And if I'm not mistaken, in spanish Basilisk and Cockatrice are basically the same, in the sense that basilisks are often portrayed as part chicken
@Garanseho
@Garanseho Жыл бұрын
@@Nehu_22 Even in Harry Potter, a basilisk is born when a chicken egg hatches underneath a toad, and the cry of roosters is deadly to it. So mythological basilisks seem to be related to chickens in all media--except in Greek mythology, where they originally come from 🤣
@hayothegunosaurus
@hayothegunosaurus Жыл бұрын
Basilisk comes from the Ancient Greek βασιλίσκος (basiliskos) meaning “prince” but also referring to a type of serpent, as well as a wren (the bird), it has nothing to do with Basel, Switzerland in origin or etymology

@@hayothegunosaurus i am from the city of basel, switzerland. the Basilisk (cockatrice) is a cultural symbol of the city, found very prominently on wells and fountains, due to the myth of it living in the sewers of basel. In Spanish we have the term "coming out of the sewer" It refers to when, in a group of people or a discussion, everybody seem to connect or be in some type of general popular agreement, just for someone to say something completely out of place, weird or ridiculous that makes the whole situation kind of uncomfortable. Liam quite literally just came out the sewers at the end of each round here 😅

It may even be a case where momma psychick herself doesn’t necessarily interact with the sewers much but rather uses them as hunting grounds for the poison/water fish pokémon which her chicks can easily take out. possibly stakes out near the shallow ends of the sewer to feed on the game once it drifts by. scavenging birds in tunnels aren’t rare if you live in cities lmao.

The baby bird could have stats that are inverse of Psychick. Low attack/defense and high speed. That would fix what they said about the babies being slow to return to the mom and keeps it baby that have low stats
@GreyVictory1510
@GreyVictory1510 Жыл бұрын
Honestly, a lightning bird in the sewers is so cool. You could spin it as like a mirror to pidgeos that started livinng in cities. It lives underground because there it can suck electricity from faulty lines and as it is a grounded bird, that shoots lasers, narrow passages are super advantagous for it! And speed often is the rate at which a Pokemon attacks and not always it's physical speed, so it may just be slow because charging and shooting its lasers is slow.
@Adjudicator1
@Adjudicator1 Жыл бұрын
Another explanation I can offer is that the Speed stat could reflect its reflexes and "turn sequence initiative". It is low because it is constantly dedicating its mind to its Parental Bond Ability, hence, its mind is pre-occupied and cannot react as fast as usual.
@GustavoFF126
@GustavoFF126 Жыл бұрын
It would make even more sense if the pre evolution was actually fray in defenses but had a lot of speed since it is the scout drone, if the little chick discovers where the enemy is the rooster could just snipe it with its cannon showing how it problably woldn't move much.

I feel like psychick could have a few improvements in its design and lore like making the legs look wider and shorter to emphasis its speed or make its tail a nest for eggs to show it has to drag much more weight behind it. Another detail that can be used in the pokedex is mind control through a combination of psychic energy and electro magnetic waves and the baby form could have a few small dots on its chest like a portable radio someone would carry
@_lexi
@_lexi Жыл бұрын
that’s some great criticism!
@ZephyCluster
@ZephyCluster Жыл бұрын
I would have made the tail more like an electrical plug instead of a generic thunderbolt (think Elekid's head). It could be a sewer pest by using its chicks to hunt for power boxes or power cables that it sticks its tail into to feed, adding to the cockatrice aspect. Plugging its tail into the ground for... Grounding could explain why it's slow.

This series is a common concept--randomly generated Pokemon--but completely turned on its head, with the random coming not from an AI or algorithm, but from people independently listing the variables. My ideas for both were an oilbird/jacana for the first one, it carries its young in the fluff of its tail and in doing so generates static, and it uses echolocation both to navigate and mind control the young. The second one is a group of blobfish with two forms, one in the water and one out. While in water, their bodies are held in shape by the deep water pressure, but when out of water, they fuse together and become violent

Wow! Ron usually has to rack his brain on these, but he practically got handed that first one. Surprised that he didn't lean into the cockatrice aspect more when he saw it was gonna be a sewer environment, though. And "psychick" sounds more like a name for the prevo. For the adult, I'd have gone with "Chakerel" from Chakra and Cockerel, but also sounding like Shock from its electric typing. The design is awesome, though, and I love it using its chicks like drones. The second one is a much harder composition, but Ron found a way to make it work. It looks really authentic.

I’m probably late to this but, you should try to do a video of making a appealing fakemon but, with the personal worst in every category as a challenge

“Bro, what am I gonna look at? *NINE ORTHWORMS??”* “Forget VGC, put this boy on the Lakers!” “I’m imagining a Barboach that’s 9 feet long.” Nexus is such a gem

Here's an idea for a fakemon video: Pokemon that get smaller when they evolve. Like they get stronger when they evolve, but get smaller as well.

Absolutely continue with this series, it is so much fun. I sound like a broken record at this point but the collaborative efforts for this sort of video really works. I love the creativity everyone comes up with. As far as people for future videos, I would recommend Chuggaaconroy, Masaeanela, HoopsandHipHop, Shofu, Pragmagik, Purplecliffe, Mandjtv, PM7, and anyone you've done these videos with before or anyone you've done the 4 artists 1 prompt videos with before.

Great way to start my Saturday morning. I’m obsessed with this series, the way you creatively fuse these traits all together is genius. Now to think of another group for an eventual Part 4, I have some ideas for what could be🤔

Psychick (GREAT WORK BTW!!!) is kinda like Xearth. It can't reach its babies fast enough, so it just shoots lightining bolts and psychic waves from a far. Supreme ruler!!!
