Harpidow is honestly really cool. It's a 'clothing' pokemon done perfectly. Sure, it's clearly an outfit, but it's also perfectly natural looking. I can seem similar design/evolution concepts that you see in mismagius, Honckrow, Oricolio and more.

I actually thought vaguely of the Aztecs and Mesoamerica because of the gold bands on the wings. So I would've gone in that direction and had a large, mighty, sacred bird with the appearance of Aztec ornamentation and colours. Maybe incorporate some inspiration from Queztalcoatl (though not the serpent part).

Specifically, Grandma retired around the same time as the team star drama. Poppy the prodigy got offered her grandma's spot but wanted to use steel types. It just so happened that then a certain steel type e4 member was planning to move back to Galar with his daughter who 'needed a break' This Poppy could get the steel type opening, but then what of the flying type. Geeta decides to call up her most belabored gym leader and has him do double duty as the "temporary" flying type e4 member.

i love and find it so fascinating that everyone got _wood_ from coperro, because i was thinking like, fossil pokemon? which ultimately yeah amber resin etc- similar concepts! but i definitely was thinking of like, a fossil mon gone wrong where instead of bringing back the pokemon properly, it fused with the rock and amber it was fossilized in, or there was unhardened amber leaking from its fossil, something like that :) maybe like a possible baby pokemon for it that is the actual like, proper pokemon? idk but its so fascinating the differences in train of thought, love this series :3

I always try to play along! So for Spawnlet (before i saw the name) I went ahead and paused and really studied the bird. The colors reminded me of almost an angelic being and the talons reminded me of Guardians of Ga'Hoole (specifically the movie which you should go watch because its beautiful) I ended up imagining an almost angelic knights PET. Like an angelic eagle that could be a symbol of the battle we must go through to be one with the Lord. For Coperro I thought of a little Chihuahua (before I even heard the name!), and once again taking from a childhood movie, I thought of a scene from Beverley Hills Chihuahua 2(?) where Papi tells the kids a story of their ancestors who could travel through tunnels to deliver messages! So I took Coperro and made it where he would stay small and agile, taking gemstones, minerals, and ores from mines in Latin America to the surface! They were treated like royalty would be a rock - grass Edit: Heres a reminder that I came up with these on the spot so of course they arent as well thought out as these professionals!

No no, I like your ideas! Eagles have been depicted as angelic or heavenly creatures for a long time, across many cultures, and I think perhaps leaning on the angelic aspect by giving it an unusual number of features, or emphasizing the gold bands, would be a good "biblically accurate angel" approach. Your thoughts on Coperro being a messenger bearing minerals also works in a number of ways; I believe it was the Aztecs who had an impressively complex road system specifically for couriers to run messages from place to place. An elaborately-carved series of features in an Aztec style could pull in that influence. Furthermore, in other cultures gemstones are associated with not just underground but the Underworld, and for the Aztecs, the Xoloitzcuintli (Xolo dog) was a psychopomp, guiding the spirits of the dead to the Underworld. So an Aztec-themed dog centered around carrying messages, running, and digging up gems from underground works really well as a concept!

I think my favorite Fakemon from my personal roster is a Water-type starter based on a star-nosed mole, which are apparently semiaquatic and can smell things underwater by puffing air bubbles at them and then snorting the bubble back in. The design isn't fleshed-out at all but it's such a neat thought.
