GinjaNinjaOwO's entire pitch blew me away. I have never been so sad that fakemon designs and a fan made game mechanic weren't going to appear in a full game. Can you imagine it? A new region where almost all the pokemon are zombie-plague-mushroom-infected versions of pre-existing Pokemon. And to make it better Nintendo wouldn't release any images of the pokemon before game release. You just have to play through and discover them in world.

Man, June’s idea of breeding two specific Pokémon together is so cool. I have actually been making a fakémon region with a bunch of those kinds of Pokémon in it, some of the stand outs: -A fire/grass hybrid between Ludicolo and Shiftry based on maple trees and kabuki -A bug/dragon hybrid between Dustox and Beautifly that uses mimicry to disguise as a dragon -A fighting/ghost hybrid between Zangoose and Seviper that is an unhatched egg possessed by a manifestation of their rivalry

Pteratoofy is unironically the one with the most potential her competitively. Clearing hazards on switch in is really strong especially in singles, and combine that with moves like Flip Turn for pressure and Roost for tanking and it sounds like it would honest to god be a little toxic. Which is really ironic given its design.

So to clarify with Carnotaurus's arms; the reason they're often portrayed as display ornaments is specifically BECAUSE they had a large range of motion, and not vestigial. When comparing the joints and connections of abelisaurs (notably carno), they have far more range of movement than other theropods. There is no way they would be vestigial and useless with the range of motion they have in their joints. however, I am not an expert, so correct me if I'm wrong.

But the the thing is I think that they both differ in the first syllable (Rhy and Ser) While Deceptile phonetically contains Sceptile I'm gonna make an example if ther was a pokemon called Breezard i wouldn't have an issue, but if there was a pokemon called Pancharizard that would pe an issue

So phonetically it's the same, but obviously not when you look at the inspiration, so your Pancharizard example doesn't work, because Charizard is just its own thing. Rhy&Se+perior works the same as Dece+Sce+ptile because the first half comes from a different word, even if it sounds the same.

Crossbreed evolution is actually a neat concept if you think about it. Shelder and Slowpoke could get this treatment, and it could work really well with others. Maybe certain gender breeding combinations between Karrablast and Shelmet could end up with Escavelier or Accelgor.

I’m not sure the Karrablast and Shelmet thing really makes sense but I agree that the concept of hybrid Pokémon is really cool and could be a gimmick on par with regional variants. When I say “hybrids” I don’t mean like Pokémon fusions but instead new unique Pokémon with their own concepts that would logically come from breeding the parent Pokémon, much like the Illuna-Imorel-Cordysect dynamic in this video.

An easy way for the breeding mechanic is to take the dex entry, and use that for a clue. Have it so that when you have an Illunas egg hatch with an Immorel in the party, the egg hatches as a Cordysect

All of these designs are so beautiful, and cute! Really well thought out too. Once again I'm sitting here wishing they were cannon pokemon! Personally, GinjaNinjaOwO's designs in particular, I've been itching for a luna moth pokemon for ages and Illuna is top tier. Then you have Immorel (love that name), that is cute on their own, but have that creepy cute vibe. Lastly the fact that you can literally put those together to get the bug/ghost (a type combo I wish had more mons besides Shedninja even though they're cool too) Cordysect?? A creepy/cute moth with some specific spooky details if you know what you're looking for with body horror. So cool!

I think Cordysect should be more like Mantine, where it evolves from Mantyke as long as there's a Remoraid in the party. so Illuna only evolves into Cordysect when an Immorel is in your party. I think that works a bit better than being the product of two separate species breeding.

I think the breeding idea works better because its more so a combination of them both instead of one of them evolving. So unless the evolution took both of them to make one pokemon I think breeding would fit the overall idea better. It's also a very unique mechanic something no other pokemon has so thats another reason to keep breeding

I also like Cordysect's entire being Like it's dex entry said that it seems devoid of any personality which made me think of all of the vessels from Hollow Knight and even the Hollow Knight/Pure Vessel which are meant to living creatures devoid of anything that makes it a person or a living being. It makes me think that Cordysect does have a personality but that personality it super hidden or it tends to not show its personality to anyone outside of people to really trust.

Absolutely loved seeing everyone's unique take on the prompt! It seems like the kind of thing where you could easily end up with a lot of similar concepts, but each idea was creative and distinct. You've got a predator-prey pair that mimic eachother, two contrasting night creatures who create a parasitic relationship, a pair who are enemies because of their conflicting personalities with opposite season motifs, and then a symbiotic pair with a mutually beneficial relationship. This series is so much fun and I hope it will continue!

I really love how everyone went for an unorthodox kind of relationship, from mimicry to parasitism to rivalry to mutualism, and how they managed to elevate each Pokemon concept above an 'elemental cartoony animal' into something that feels authentically Pokemon-esque!

Cordysect, specifically the shiny actually gave me more savathun from destiny vibes, which is fitting since she is known as the hive goddess of deceit and the designs were about animals that use trickery in appearance to ward off predators

All of the fakemon here are incredibly well done, but I'm sorry I gotta give it to Vergo. Those Dinos are absolutely perfect. There are a lot of fakemon I've seen that I wish were real, these may have taken the top spot.

Honestly, my favorite has the be GinjaNinjaOwO's design. All of these were really good, but I really like how Illuna and Imorel seem to outright physically merge into Cordysect. The only other time we've seen something like that was with the Gen 5 mascot legends, but that's still a very different concept. The Gen 5 mascot legends were more like separate parts of a whole coming back together, while Cordysect is more of one parasitizing the other to become something completely new, with the additional representation of how an invasive species can disrupt an ecosystem.

I always loved bug (specifically the moth and butterfly ones) and ghost types. so naturally i thought that cordyceps design was so perfect. I like to imagine it's what Parasect would've been like if they're made in modern pokemon concepts and designs. Great video and designs overall!

I can't get over how much I love the concept of the moth and fungus. I've always been fascinated by the fungus and it's just such a cool idea to turn that into a pokemon, and to have a pokemon that can only be acquired from breeding the two completely different species together is just so cool.
