What's always hilarious to me is how these extremely deep , soul awakening & reconnecting videos hold a couple thousands views & some really message-less music videos have millions of millions of millions of millions of views . Lol - mission : flip the views on the videos ! Babydoll Matrix loves you ! 🌊

It's better this stays within small numbers because if everyone starts to follow spirituality through any method or form our society would fall. These things might form the next fanatic religous likw moment. So be careful what you wish and don't wish anything involving others

Sir I m quite impressed by the way you describe the events in the dark room retreat।।It sounds very similar or exact same as described in Tibetan book of dead, and dark retreat known as Yangti in Tibetan Buddhism। Sir if you ever come to India or sub continent, please give a chance to meet।

Thank you for sharing so clearly your experience in your dark retreat. Your experiences sound similar to my two retreats just over 7 days each this year. It's so different to hear from a seasoned practitioner or devotee to the Awareness of Love. I've seen too many dark room videos that demonstrate something else. Thank you for your enthusiasm about this work. It was surprising to hear someone else talk about the challenge of orientation in the room since, in my case, I had to navigate trees in a forest among other changing mindscapes to get to the bathroom. Every day was a miracle of newness I could not have expected contrasting with the decades of meditation and retreats I've attended. At the end of the first dark retreat it was like discovering a new forever friend who'd always been there but was hiding in the shadows. I simply needed the courage to be in the dark long enough to see.

the ten day Vipassana retreat was one of the most intense experiences of my life, and I loved it. It felt like the most natural and relaxed way to be among a lot of people, in "noble silence", and it enabled me to imagine the do-ability of a longish water fast (29 days). Now, 13 years later, the idea of a ten day darkroom retreat feels like it is drawing me. After the past few years also, the notion of letting go into a couple days of profound sleep sounds like a very good crossing...

This is great, here you are witnessing literally what the buddha and so many other messengers have taught. Would love to hear what desires and fears remain.
@chessedwards
@chessedwards 2 жыл бұрын
The main thing isn't that the different desires and fears just stop. But there is no longer a compulsion to feed them. They have been exposed for the conditioning and programming that they are. Constructs of mind. And as such, they can still arise, but they aren't given much value. They are just habitual thoughts which are observed by the neutral and loving awareness that we are. Over time, as they are starved of attention, they begin the shrivel, to quiet and to greatly reduce the amount of time or effort that they put forth to be engaged. Within the quiet that remains there is the freedom to follow what feels nourishing to the soul and to gracefully turn away from that which diminishes the spirit.

Thank you so much for sharing. I feel like i will find all i need if i can make it happen somehow. Resting, isolation, getting rid of all that illusion, finding who i am really, at least seeking who i am in peace, i really need to calm my mind. I gotta find what is all these struggle and stres for. I desperately need to stop worrying. Anxiety about everything, the future, my family, my relationship, my carreer etc , eating me alive and even my physical body has been affected negatively lately. Doctors prescribe anti-depressants only, and i never use. I dont believe suppressing the problem or changing the chemistry of my brain is the solution. I dont know why, but as if every cell in my body begs for this, i have no idea what i m gonna go through and yet i feel like i desperately need this. Like its calling me. I just have to figure out how to set up the right kind of dark room cuz i cant go anywhere these days. Without any disturbance from outside, any noise, and gotta solve the issue of toilet of course. Its funny how a simple thing as this, could be such a big problem at the same time. I m sure i will sort it out eventually but still thinking how :/ Love from turkey and thank you so much for sharing your intimate feelings

Dear friend. Who are your guides? Whose teachings do you study and meditate upon? What is the nature of your meditation practice? A dark room experience is a supplement to a meditation and self realization practice. It is not a solution to a busy mind.

@chessedwards
@chessedwards 3 жыл бұрын
For me the Dark Room Experience was more impactful. But perhaps only because I had enough understanding of non-duality to make the most of the experience. Vipassana certainly had more instruction and guidance. In the Dark Room Retreat it is just you and there is no instruction or guidance. For me, the 10 day Vipassana retreat didn't feel to have as lasting an impact as the Dark Room Retreat. But then again, I was at two very different times of life when I did each.

Hi Chess, Thanks for your video, it was wonderful to hear you articulate your experience, I am in the process of organising a similar retreat for this summer and I was wondering how the days panned out beyond day 4 as there was a strong focus about the significance of realisation on the fourth day but were the remaining days necessary or do you think that you could have received similar benefits from doing less days? The reason I ask is I am trying to work out how many days would be appropriate for myself to undergo such an experience. Many thanks.

@just another human I am speaking about the things that kept changing, therefore not real. For example, the wall would be 2 feet away and then when I glanced back it would be 6 feet away. Clearly I wasn't seeing the luminous glow of the wall. It kept moving. And the beams that weren't there would appear, disappear and move. I do recognize that there is an energetic glow from objects that can be discerned in the dark. Thanks for the reference.

i want to do a retreat here in our community in ecuador like this (chambalabamba.org). I would like to know how long he was able to maintain this new loss of false identity? I have been aware of this for years as a concept, and believe in it. It is what Nisergadatta Maharaj taught in Mumbai before he died in 1982 or so.

Thank you for sharing :). I believe this was one of the videos I watched in 2020 when I had only experienced a few five and seven day dark retreats and was in preparation for a 93 day kayakalpa dark retreat in India. Haha due to past karma or what, I’ve very much connected strongly with darkness and since then I’ve had another 89 day kayakalpa last year, a 49 day kayakalpa earlier this year and some smaller several week longs etc over these years. Though I consider myself very much a novice and definitely not a teacher, after last year’s 89 day I thought to share a few videos about my experiences, insights, best practices, cautions etc. Haha I intended a few videos but it turned into many. Here is that playlist if anyone is interested. Much Love ❤😊 kzbin.info/aero/PLytLvPVhgJlX_tXzKEW3oo1rrz7beBGYt&si=0rZT6sLIMXyODlUf
