February 1997. It was a beautiful day in Hastings, England. Families were out enjoying the sunshine and making the most of the school half-term holiday. The peace of this small town would soon be shattered and the hunt would be on to catch a dangerous offender, in a case that would captivate Britain.

If they genuinely believed there was someone stalking or watching the house, why leave a 13 year old alone on the patio? That makes no sense to start with.

No not at all, they entire point of that is so the prosecution and defense don’t just “miraculously” find evidence at the last minute leaving the other side with little or no time to actually verify it and try to rebut it, especially scientific evidence that would take a lot more time as opposed to a witness statement or something. It was often used as a “trial by surprise” tactic that led to many unjust outcomes so that’s why pre trial deadlines are a big deal and taken pretty seriously, this will vary by state or country somewhat but generally this is how a trial goes and it’s a very complex system that things have to be done as close to the law as possible. It’s certainly not perfect and if they did accept the evidence then the defense almost surely would have asked for time to prepare a defense but the downside to that is just even longer drawn out court dates, there’s a lot of moving pieces to a trial and it’s honestly why if you’re fortunate enough to be able to afford a lawyer especially a good one you will see where your money went to especially compared to a public defender (I’m not bashing PDs they have a thankless job and are so overworked it’s ridiculous)

What's more, she procreated with him knowing he was an abuser before they even married! It makes NO sense to bring children into this world with an abuser. My mom knew my biological "donor" was controlling and a pathological liar, a pervert, and shady, but she procreated with him anyway. As a result, he abused the crap out of us kids even as tiny toddlers through childhood. Who doesn't seek to protect children knowing that someone is abusive? I don't want to hear excuses.

Ok I’m officially PISSED OFF! His clothes and boots with HER blood and tiny skull pieces should have sunk him! They were in the SEAMS! The family friend who testified that he saw Sean KICK her in injured knee because he was mad she “hurt herself again!” Rage issues against an injury on a child? SICK! There was no damn man in the house, telling him Billie Jo was going to be ok, he made it up or another lie. The fact he was physically violent with everyone in his family with his “naughty stick.” Just plain disturbing. He has very bad character flaws, uncontrollable anger, LYING about his education and degree’s The weirdness with the car, the DIY store is a smokescreen. He wanted to get back to “discover the body” while his kids wanted to grab paint. The judge should have never said “not guilty” when the jury failed to reach a verdict the 3rd time, he could have been retried again later, it was a MISTRIAL NOT A RULING! The violence toward his family, the fact he seemed to single Billie Jo out, perhaps because she was a foster/adoptive child and not HIS is common among narcissistic parents, this whole case seems to say he’s a narcissist. He seems to think he can take his anger out on anyone, I can totally see the poor girl being a regular 13 year old and not wanting to turn his music down and this sent him into a blind rage of anger and violence because SHE WAS GOING TO LISTEN TO HIM, or like the rest of the family, a hit, submission, pretending it didn’t happen. I don’t have a single doubt in my mind he’s guilty.

One important and telling fact absent from this video, is that journalist, the late Bob Woffinden, who did so much in the campaign to secure Jenkins' eventual release and who co-authored the book "The murder of Billie-Jo " , began to doubt, then completely changed his mind about Sion Jenkins' innocence ! This was after Jenkins insisted on including a chapter about the "Mystery man in the hall" in the second edition of the book. Jenkins claimed he was convinced the strange man he "Saw" was Billie's killer. However, Woffinden just didn't buy it and quickly became convinced the tale was simply fabricated nonsense !! incidentally, the prosecution tried so hard demonstrate that Sion committed the murder in the tiny 3 minute window of opportunity whilst Annie and Charlotte waited in the car. They needn't have tired so hard, because from where I'm standing, the evidence points heavily towards the evil deed having been done BEFORE Sion Jenkins set off to collect Charlotte from her clarinet lesson !

It explains why they never bought anything (bc he was in full panic mode), forgot his $$, forgot what they even needed. But when they got back, she WASN’T totally dead, so he buys MORE time by calling 999 a while later, not putting her in recovery position, etc. There’s other reasons, but it just makes more sense than him murdering her in such a short window. 🤷‍♀️

The lynch mobs always wants blood which is why most comments are against the judge who conducted the trial and the sentencing, and which also assume the guilt of the father. It is very true that most children who are fostered experience abuse (Try placing a newly hatched duckling left behind from a nest with the wrong family on the lake, and you'll discover it will be dead in the morning) = And extreme examples would be foster parents killing their victims after sexually abusing them - So this is true, and this happens - Maybe people think it's easy extra money to foster children, and thus the spiral escalates these self perpetuating traumas. However, it is also true that innocent people are incarcerated (Seemingly), only to be later found innocent of their crimes at a later date. And this is also a self perpetuating trauma, as people must knowingly do this. ◄ Galatians 6:7 ► Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. However, with this case it seems strange how the jury struggled to reach a verdict. It seems strange that a mental patient was arrested who liked stinking plastic bags up his nose. And it seems strange that the mother of the family mirrored more darkness in her than hell it's self - At that time. I really don't know - But perhaps reading the book that the convicted killer has wrote about this poor girl may provide more information - If people understand omissions, which is actually a pseudo pretext due to the noun not being seen by the verb. Either way, if he has done this, it's pretty obvious he won't be getting away with it due to the action of karmas in his Akashic records - The body might die but the mind stays attached. ◄ Luke 12:5 ► But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

The condition in which the body of the girl was lying shows that no one came from outside. Neither she was dragged nor she tried to run away from anything . Her father came and when the music was loud, instead of saying anything, he directly killed her in a state of anger. I'm sure that's what happened and if someone was like Mystery man, why would he been waiting for the family to come and talk to them about it instead of instantly getting away with it

Sion used a black bin bag in his attack.. He got so angry with her and most likely from behind forced bag over her head and then went way crazy with tent peg smashing her over head. Billie would have been gasping for air and obviously would ended with elements of bag in mouth face, this also explains the fact blood splatter didn't quite fit with him attacking her because impact splatter would have been reduced greatly due to bag being filled with blood. Somehow on journey to supermarket he managed to ditch bin bag he pulled from Billies head and so we get left with nonsense of weirdo sticking bits of binbag in nose mouth..The trip to supermarket was more about disposing plastic bag not creating timeline..

I was adopted by a wealthy family. My adoptive father abused me and molested me. But hey they're bank accounts and jobs mean that "they're capable of providing me with a loving environment." The adoption and foster care systems have a sick interpretation of loving environment. They don't care about backgrounds because money and keeping employees paid is the number one priority. They don't care about the children. People just want to stroke their own egos.

You don’t have to be rude. People read comments before and during the video. So, asking what, how a killer can be free, is a genuine question. We know the UK considers “life” 20 years. At least in the US, life means life so they can’t commit such heinous crimes again. UK and Canada have weak sentencing.

Everyone failed Billy Jo! The investigation was poor resulting in a miscarriage of justice! I wish Sion the worst in his life and to be tormented constantly by remorse of killing an innocent child! I hope he will never see his children again!

The family is so concerned they add security lights to the property & locks to the windows: while leaving Billy-Jo outside alone... That makes absolutely Zero sense!

Oh, wow - I did call this one! I figured from the beginning it was the foster father (because it's almost always the adult male with close access to the victim), but I figured that must not be the case when the story didn't seem to be going that way. And he let his daughter find Billie Jo like that. What a piece of garbage!

I'm with you. That story was absolute bs. As soon as he said they had to go get stuff to clean up "paint spots"? That poor girl was already dead before he picked up the other kid from the music lesson.

@@kathryncumberland seriously! Also she was probably using acrylic paints, which all that needs to clean up spills is soap and warm water. Edit; God the more I think about it, the more pissed off I get. My kid as a damn toddler knew how to clean up acrylic paint spills. This dude is a lie.

I don’t know how much or if he made money off of this book, but it should have been against the law. The judges should have put a stop to him, making money off of something so vile.

Sion probably murdered her because it was a violent act of sexual rage. Maybe Sion was trying to molest Billie-Jo or have twisted relations with her prior to her murder and she was about to expose him. Maybe Billie-Jo rejected his advances and Sion flew into a fury. The wife did state that Sion sought a relationship with a teenage girl that resembled Billie-Jo. I'm confused about a detail. Did he kill her before or after going to the DIY store? The account of the unidentified male lurking about is something Sion made up. Sion seems unhinged psychologically. I hope Billie-Jo gets justice. Poor girl.

Whilst i fully appreciate victims of DV find it difficult to leave a violent relationship etc. Why on earth would you bring innocent children into it? Especially a vulnerable girl like Bille Jo. Rest in peace. I hope that one day the truth will out x

Of all the "true crime" channels yours is the very best. You include portions of interrogations, all the salient facts, balanced commentary, pictures and video relevant to the story. What you don't do is come off smarmy, judgemental or hyperbolic. Thank you for doing such a professional job!

He was the deputy head when I was there, he was quite and odd guy compared to many of the teachers. Most of the time calm but i certainly remember at times he had a bit of a temper when classes wouldn't settle. It was so weird as I had a 1 to 1 with him discussing my year subject choices and like a week later this all went down. It was a surreal experience. It was such a travesty poor Billie-Jo.

Yeah he for sure wasn't like the other teachers was he? I had him for my English teacher from '94 to '96 (my final years there) there was a creepy side to him that I really didn't like, he was one of the last teachers I wanted to be alone with. Such a shame he got away with this. I didn't know there was a retrial.

Virtually everyone knows Sion did it, the police know it too which is why they didn't reopen the case after his equital. The problem is proving it..a lot of people believe SA was involved & Billy Jo was going to say something, that's the reason he killed her. The fact we've since found out he had a relationship with a teenager, had a violent temper, was abusive it all adds up.
