I've questioned my own intrigue of the true crime genres and believe that it is usually compassionate people who follow these stories, as they give us the opportunity to learn about the victims and their backstorie's. In addition to learning about the investigations and forensics, we get a glimpse into the psychopathy of those who commit these cruel, cold-blooded and heinous acts. And, in the end, we (usually) get closure with the knowledge of the capture, conviction and sentencing of the murderer/s.

He was around 60 when he killed all these women. You don't get to 60 then all of a sudden become a serial killer. This guy may have been doing it for 30 or 40 years. Maybe even a different M.O when he was younger and stronger so able to finish them off with his bare hands rather than a gun.

The cop that noticed the truck go past, and went to question the suspected serial killer known to have a gun.. far out that guy had balls of steel. Questioning the killer without backup… finding all that mortifying evidence.. and knowing the psycho could turn on you any moment. Amazing courage. That’s real police work there.

I absolutely love your channel. Everytime I watch a video, I feel as though I am watching journalists reporting a crime. Yall ate strictly factual. Yall make it wholly about the case. Most true crime KZbinrs put themselves in view, and that's completely fine, I love those channels as well, but I I really appreciate that yall never put yourselves on camera. Yall research the cases, learn as much as yall can, and present the case with all the facts and pictures of victims, law enforcement, key persons, scenes, the perpetrator, and any others having to do with the case ♥ It makes this channel unique from all the true crime channels. I believe that yall would be excellent investigators and journalists.

Totally agree, like can i see some pics and stuff and focus on the case instead of the narrator/video host... you're so right lady! This is why this is one of my top crime channels - other true crime channels whose hosts are NOT in the video like you mentioned, and that i regularly watch include Disturban, Shrouded Hand as well as Dark Curiosities, Lazy Masquerade, and Cadaber

I couldn’t agree more. Those thumbnails with the KZbinrs’ faces (often beautifully made up) are a little icky to me, given the nature of the content. Also, the way cases are presented on this channel is elegant without dramatisations for the sake of ‘entertainment’. It is strict factual and sensitive to the victims and their families.
@chelseapthib36
@chelseapthib36 2 жыл бұрын
@@flaviamusoni4259 another thing I really appreciate is how they never offer their opinions on any case. They never make it about them. @flaviamusoni4259

@@chelseapthib36 Precisely. The fact that they do not insert their opinions comes across as more professional and respectful. The facts of the case are enough. @@flaviamusoni4259 I've seen quite a few people make that complaint about Bailey Sarian. I like the way this show handles the subject matter. True Crime reporters in the US are, often, all too chipper and full of smiles. The case is eerie in and of itself, without a carnival atmosphere. I am studying the neurobiology of addiction, and have a B.A. in Sociology. I’m also in recovery, myself. My heart goes out to people still struggling with active addictions. It’s tragic, twisted, and wrongheaded when people like Rhoades treat them like they are worthless. The only thing that’s trashy is treating other human beings like trash.

Prescription drug addiction is a far bigger problem than street drugs, but they don't want to tell you that. Perhaps docs should stop over prescribing meds (most are only ever intended for short term use anyway) and government should put money into mental health support. But Big pharma, that colossal great money spinner, would never allow it to happen

Thank you for covering this very real and ongoing problem. I only wish you'd titled it with the actual issue. He was a TRUCK DRIVER serial killer. The FBI has a map with around 700 unsolved homicides, the majority female, where bodies have been found along or near interstate highways. Many of the sex workers that frequent truck stops and go missing meet their end at the hand of truck driver serial killers. They have suspected that there are several serial killers driving trucks at any given time. Go check out Keith Hunter Jesperson. He's doing life instead of the death penalty because he gave up some locations of his victims. They call him the Happy Face Killer.

A former FBI agent has written a book about the over 850 bodies found along highways across the US. After investigations they’ve been linked to truck drivers. The FBI estimates there are approximately 450 serial murderers driving trucks across the US currently. The book covers The Truck Stop Killer who killed over 50 women and The Interstate Strangler who killed at least 12. The name of the book is called Long Haul by Frank Fugliuzzi.

These truck driver killers can be hard to track down but once they are found it should be pretty simple to match them to the crimes through their schedule of travel but even easier these days with GPS. If a company owns the truck they almost always have GPS on the truck. That should make it very easy but in the earlier years they still had gas receipts and travel logs

Thank you for covering this case. I was in & out of jail/prison for yrs, till I got myself together went back to school & getting ready to start my criminology degree this year. The fear from this case spread way beyond TN & GA. I was in Lowell CC in FL at the time. With this being a uk channel, if anyone dont know GA borders FL. I was back in the Y.O 16-21 yo in Lowell at the time, with charges all related to an addiction to meth, & heroin, & caused by self medicating then, undiagnosed BPD/Bipolar. So being so close, & targeting young addicts (Luckiky I never worked the streets to feed addiction. To me I'd have done virtually anything to avoid withdrawal. It's not a bad flu! It's something you can't describe, but take the worst flu x 100 along with major anxiety every min feels like an hour). But I would literally have rather coped through withdrawal than work the streets. But obv I know the desperation these woman had. The fear was so widespread across states, that woman even non workers were said to be carrying some form of defense. It's the only time I was thankful in a way to be locked up on the compound, while this went down. My interest in social sciences, esp criminology & truecrime led to my choice returning to study. But hope even in even some small way, when I graduate to get into research. As every amount of research of these cases, could prevent even 1 more tragedy. I know fs the cops don't & won't take it as serious as a normal homicide, when it involves sex workers. That's wrong on every level. These woman didn't grow up wanting to work the streets, & they're mom's, sisters, daughters, nieces, granddaughters. RIP to all those woman, & all the others who've died at the hands of a sadistic monster. Whatever views on sex work are, no one deserves this, apart from (& I'm 💯 anti DP) cho mos or baby killers. I'd not advocate for DP for anyone but sure wouldn't be sad if 1 of those met a bad end. But really no one should suffer this, & no one no matter how sick their "fantasies" are, should commit acts like this. They can wanna do it, but actually doing it is whole new level evil.

I was sitting in the jump seat of that yellow truck at the T/A on June 26th, 2007. I got dropped off by friends after leaving home just over the Kentucky state line earlier that evening. I was trying to find a ride West to Little Rock. I knew Sara. Back when I was still driving I would frequently park my truck at the T/A and have family come get me to take me home if I had extra time. I would let her and other girls use my CB to conduct their business. I won't get into why I would do that ...I just would. My company wouldn't usually let me take my truck home (80 miles from T/A) if I was under a load and I would sometimes take my breaks in Nashville and get a ride home. Due to personal problems I quit driving for a while but when I would need to go back to Texas I would catch rides with truckers. That's why I was in that truck that night. The driver gave me the creeps. I dealt with a lot of them over the years but this guy made my hairs crawl. When Sara knocked on the door I was happy to get out. I told her not to get in there but she said she knew him and was just going to use the CB. I found my ride and took off. The only reason it wasn't me is cause he was going the wrong direction. I probably would have accepted the ride with him if he had of been going the right way. Also, if she hadn't knocked when she did, I wonder if I'd be on this list. I hate that it happened to her. I hate that it happened to anyone. I found out about Sara about a month later when I got back home to Kentucky. I went back to driving a few months after that and drove for several more years but never could go back to the T/A. Not even for fuel. I'm almost 60 now and will never forget that night or Sara.
