Indeed. The first murderer could hardly have given much more forewarning of his actions. The police could easily have had him arrested, charged and cooling off in the cells for the unwanted communications alone.

I can't agree with you more. Years ago I met a guy, who was a total mess. Everyone looked down at him. I was the only one talking to him. He was educated and very intelligent. But he would come to work look like a beggar. He told me he wasn't working for a while. I felt sympathy towards him. When he asked me twice to marry him, I thought why not. He's a good guy and I can be a positive change in his life. We got married back in 2006. I'm lucky that l managed to escape from him safely with my children. He was very violent and abusive towards me and the children. Always lose his job. At work his collages avoid him. Very jealous and controlling. He managed to chase away my friends and even my family. It's almost four years now since I left him, but to this day he still stalks me. Last week I had to deactivate my Facebook as he somehow found a way, despite the block, to write nasty comments about me on my business page. I had to delete that page too. I Don't see him giving up on me and I do worry about my safety and my children's too.

Why she would even go with him is beyond me. I've even told my daughter NEVER GO WITH THEM and fight, scream and run. Even if he kills you, he's going to do it when he get's you to the other location. It's not like he's taking you somewhere to NOT kill you. I'd rather die with a bullet in the head on the spot instead of gamble on wherever the hell I'm being taken. At least you won't be raped and/or tortured and at least your family will have your body.

@@traviscrawford1629 There is not much to find, that's true. The reddit thread has a link to an article which says the original was never released. When I first read it's not the real photo I took a closer look at it (I didn't do it before due to obvious reasons) and I observed the person in the picture looks nothing like Samantha other than some basic features. Could be due to decomposision, but I don't think so. That's my conclusion. You could be right I don't know it for a fact. Netflix could be wrong too. In the end we both have the same resources to check it and came to different conclusions. While there often can be a leak I always wondered why the pic was published, as a parent you usually don't want the public to remember your daughter in such a way.

Stalking should be considered as a crime, every police department should have a team of cops or a cop dedicated to investigate stalking reports. If I’m not mistaken, a large percentage of stalking leads to abuse of all kind & worst, murder!!!

Most cases where people are stalked end in abuse/murder. Once these people become obsessed with someone, it is almost impossible to get rid of them (all their actions are directed at that person, it'a a sick obsession). This is why the reaction of the authorities, who refuse to intervene until the victim is injured/killed, is unbelievable (with sooooo many cases like this...). There are people who have changed their identity, moved to another country to protect themselves, because the police does nothing for them, or because the stalkers receive very short punishments and threaten that they will continue to harass them after their release.

Again. Yes. Ideally. But police department's are severely under funded and under staffed. its one reason response time can be slow, cases are not worked harder and people who do nothing but complain about them . So many quit. Stalking is the domestic abuse of the 20+ its not taken seriously . Maybe after an extremely high profile case of stalking and murder it will start.

He actually got stuck at work and was running late. She had only been working there less than a month but her boss said that she was very enthusiastic about her job and liked by customers and coworkers. It made me soooo mad when he told the detectives that he didn't want his daughter hearing about this. Oh, but he didn't think of Samantha and what her parents would have to hear and see and suffer with her loss. He didn't CARE either about all his other victims that were daughters, sisters, mothers, friends etc. I know that it has been said that God doesn't make mistakes, but I think this one may have slipped by him on the assembly line.

Ladies, and men too, watch for the warning signs, most of all; DO NOT go for one last talk, as it might just be your last. Always try to have someone with you. I just wish the law would take these cases a little more serious than just we have to wait until they do something first. The story that is most heartbreaking is the one with the girl in Alaska. In the video you can see people walking by her. It is just so sad that she didn't just run, run, run. Better to be shot right there than taken to a second location. Heart wrenching, she was so young.

She was kidnapped along with her then boyfriend, who was bound & gagged in the car trunk....and then she got back with him after he was released from prison!? I think that it’s just as important for victims to get mandatory counseling as it is for ppl to pay for their crime, accordingly. Especially ppl who continue to go back into abusive, controlling relationships...they need to figure out why they do that to themselves so they can hopefully stop the pattern. More often than not those ppl are drawn to the exact personality types who are abusive.

I believe in an eye for an eye in the case of murders, like what happened to Molly. Twenty Six years is NOTHING compared to the death of a young woman, who was only 23 and should have had decades of life ahead of her. There were witnesses to the brutal murder and absolutely no doubt who did it. To me, this is should have been a very quick verdict for the death sentence...without years of waiting for it to happen either. I just don't understand how death sentences are totally banned in some places...when there are times it should be used. I know if that had happened to one of my family members, nothing less than a death sentence would make me feel like justice was done. But too, I also know some people don't think like me and if they would wish a killer to not be put to death, fine. It should be up to those closest to the victim to at least have that choice/option - when it is, indeed, cases like this where the guy is seen and had to be stopped, and even caught right there at the scene of the murder. There's absolutely no doubt he murdered her.

i agree. i can understand why some people may see the death penalty as unethical, but i feel that it is a very reasonable consequence for the worst of the worst (i'm referring specifically to those who commit the most violent, sociopathic, sadistic serial murders..those who we know can not be rehabilitated). there is no reason that ordinary citizens should have to pay taxes to feed, clothe, house, and provide (often top-notch) medical care to these monsters. on the other hand, for some, life in prison is a far worse punishment than death. esp if it is carried out quickly without the person having to sit and wait on death row. our prisons are already so overcrowded and while the majority of prisoners are not the kind of monsters i described, a quick death sentence for those who are might help to lighten the burden, even if just a little bit. the world will not miss them.

Keyes left 11 individual papers with skulls drawn in blood on them. With the 12th paper having a goat’s head in the shape of a pentagram drawn on it. He left them under his bed in prison, and they were found after he killed himself. They supposedly represent all of his victims. Keyes is such a strange case. The fact that he took extraordinary measures before, during, and after his crimes to not get caught, yet he breaks all of his own rules for killing when he abducts Samantha Koenig. He kills in his own city and state, which he the whole reason he moved to Alaska was to kill in other states, and then go back to Alaska, because he believed no one would be looking for a serial killer in Alaska who’s killing all over the country. He then keeps her at his own house, contacts Koenig’s family for ransom, which is a MAJOR risk in itself. Stores Koenig’s body at his house while he goes out of town, then he goes to Texas, uses her debit card, KNOWING FULL WELL there’s cameras at the ATM, then gets caught driving in a rental car in Texas, with her debit card and ID… It doesn’t make sense to me that he would take such drastic measures to conceal his identity during all of his previous crimes, and then decide to break all of his rules one random night during a random attack. The rules that had served him so well in all of his previous crimes. Something is just fishy with his behavior during the Koenig abduction and killing.

@@tracey8698 naw. These killer’s never WANT to be caught. In the history of serial killer’s, I think there’s only been two that have ever voluntarily given themselves up. One being Edmund Kemper, and he only did that after killing the source of his rage. Once he killed his mother, he had no more desire to kill, and had almost zero experience in society, so he was more comfortable being in prison. The other one was Wayne Ford, and it was his brother that found out he was a serial killer, and had convinced him to turn himself in. So he did. But none WANT to be caught. The Israel Keyes case is very strange. It was like he was super intelligent when carrying out his crimes, but he seemed to revert to a much less intelligent person when not killing. Which is what seemed to lead to his arrest in Texas. But the fact that he took such great lengths to stay hidden, and then broke all his own rules about killing with his last victim, just strikes me as so weird. As it did psychologists who worked with him. No one understand why he’d take such precaution in his previous crimes, and then throw it all out the window with his last victim. But we can really never make sense out of these killer’s. They’re irrational beings. So it’s difficult to ever find reason in their decisions.

The psychology of the “stalker who murders”, is so strange. They just latch onto someone for some reason, and refuse to let them go. They’ll hallucinate more intimate relationships with the victim than what’s really there, and they won’t stop the obsession until they kill the victim. But they may not have any history of violence or obsession. It’s just strange, that something clicks, and they just latch on so hard. It’s extremely fascinating, as well as terrifying.
