My Mahas where outstanding this season ! Super sweet! It depends on the nutrients in the ground..

I really loved the complexity in the flavor, also the texture is very smooth, no fiber. only sampled the fruit twice, years ago, but left a lasting impression. hence the reason I use Maha Chanok, as thumbnail. I really believe some people are more sensitive to certain aromas and flavors, for example Carrie is the absolute favorite of some people and yet others cannot stand it. this is why I always recommend people taste test the fruit before planting one. I generally love all mangoes, but do not like mangoes with any internal breakdown or Jelly Seed, also some varieties ( for example Kiett ) can sometimes sprout roots in the fruit. this gives them an off taste that I do not like. texture is important, so I dont care how good a Jelly seed mango might taste I d not want that mush in my mouth :)

Maha is one of the most over rated mangoes there is. If you like one note mangoes that taste like a carrot then Maha is for you.

@Steve M, is there some company that manufactures Maha Chanok, that has over hyped them? the hype comes from mango aficionados, that tried them like many others and they either love them or don't, they still top peoples list every year. I barely heard of MC before trying it on a table with others at a tasting event. and it was the best mango there. Nobody likes a mango because of hype, they love them because THEY enjoy them. my 7 year old loves broccoli, I cannot stand the taste. so is broccoli a bad veggie? to me maybe, not to everyone. taste is subjective. anyway it's no surprise that farmers in Australia are increasing MC production, due to public demand for them. in some cases replacing the much loved Kensington pride. www.abc.net.au/news/rural/2015-06-30/nt-mango-farm-boosting-mahachanok-plantings/6480684
