I had one of those old ones with a red valve. If my memory is correct the valve was in some way connected electrically so if you disconnected the battery it would dump the water.

I have a red one too - I have done a video on it. However this is the first time I have heard of the battery disconnecting BUT I am on the ball and will find out the reason for it.

@@VanlifewithAlan The red one is also triggered by a loss of power. So even when it's nice and warm, if you turn off the system it will still drain, as I have experienced with our previous MH. The newer blue version is triggered by temperature only.

@@Campertsnl I have had two and neither were triggered by loss of power. As both of you have now said this I presume that neither of mine were working or that changes were made to the system in 2006-2007. It is logical that loss of power would mean the water draining as without it the temperature sensor would not have worked and getting the heat back on would not have worked either.

I’ve seen to have a problem with my dumb valve? It’s dump the water even when it’s or appears to be in the closed position could it be Faulty. And does it drain all the water even in the clean water tank as soon as I try to fill the clean water tank it’s running out under the van or is there another valve somewhere please help
