Trump ally Steve Bannon set to go to jail after losing appeal of contempt conviction

Former Trump White House strategist Steve Bannon’s appeal of his conviction for contempt of Congress was turned aside by a federal appeals court Friday, making him the second ally of the 45th president to face jail time for flouting a subpoena from the House select committee that probed the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
A three-judge panel from the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit found that letting Bannon off the hook would “hamstring Congress’s investigatory authority.”
In the 20-page opinion, Judge Bradley Garcia said Bannon’s defense that he had acted on the “advice of counsel” and did not intend to break the law when ignoring the subpoena was “no defense at all.”

And definitely won’t be big protests from Trumpers when Trump goes to prison, though a few of his crazies will likely hurt some random American as they have multiple times before. Trump posted repeatedly that he wanted his supporters to demonstrate outside the Stormy Daniel’s courthouse, and NY set aside a big area for Trump fans to demonstrate it. Almost none came….literally 1 to 5 people per day, and it’s on video, pics, etc. And the day it was 5 people, one was Guilanni’s adult son. The average C list celebrity could get more supporters to show up if they asked, and Trump does not have the support he dreams he does.
