President Trump awarded the nation's highest military honor to Ronald J. Shurer II for conspicuous gallantry for actions he took in 2008 as a staff sergeant in the Army. He now serves in the Secret Service

Reading the comments I see a lot of people on here talking about Trump or Clinton. THIS IS NOT ABOUT EITHER OF THEM. This is about Staff Sergeant Ronald Shurer. Do not make this man of honor your platform for politics. This man is a hero and that is all we should be talking about.

CMoH recipient Navy Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Edward Byers was also a corpsman of his SEAL team. In addition CMoH recipient Navy Master Chief Britt Slabinski is also a trained Paramedic. This former Staff Sergeant is currently a special agent assigned to US Secret Service Counter Assault Team-Special Operations Division at the Whitehouse.

We must have also been different cycles in selection and Q, as well as serving in different units (apparently he was 3rd, I was 1st(1/Bco/125th). I had no clue he’d become a triple volunteer or won the Congressional! It’s weird bc once you part ways with so many ppl, you’ve no idea what they end up doing. In this case, Ron’s career paralleled my own and I was completely unaware until the announcement of his death today. My thoughts and prayers are with Ron’s family. Di Oppresso Liber, brother...

What is wrong with some of these people in the comments, a man came under fire to save the lives of others. He was awarded the highest honor and achievement our military has to offer. Yet I read crap about the military being run by jews, anti trump crap and how killing isn't heroic, no matter the circumstances. Honestly this man was brave enough to do what all those whom speak against him couldn't. It shouldn't matter who gives the award to a true warrior of deserving valor, and if your loyalty to your nation shrinks with who's president, I would argue that your neither a supporter of those who take the oath you chose not to, nor proud of the sacrifices those before gave to allow you the right to disgrace a man of his level. I'm not happy with some of the things currently going on with my country, and I accept that you arnt either. But if all you do is hate those that take an oath to secure your rights no matter what cost, against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. Then I thoroughly beleive that what comes out of your mouth, or what you post; is not worth reading.
